I recently purchased Artisteer 2 after a successful evaluation using demo content with Joomla. I have developed two templates which feature drop down tab menus which work find in Artisteer preview but not in Joomla.

The problem is that the sub-menu items aren't displaying. It should be noted that I am trying to get Joomla to dynamically populate my menu trees using sections & categories. Currently I am using the section layout menu style. I have named my only menu module Topmenu and menus are positioned in user3 and display there but won't show submenus. It should also me noted that my template in template manager shows the message: Menus: "Cannot assign default template"

Any suggestions on where I should look for the solution?

Did you enabled submenu items while designing your Artisteer theme, otherwise you should confirm it in your joomla admin

Hi there, I too have the same problem. I downloaded a trial version of Artisteer a few days ago. Created a template with drop down menus, but they are not working in Joomla...
What to do??? Where do you say one should confirm this in Joomla admin??? Thanks a lot.

Hi guys,

Did you activate the menu on artisteer program while your building your template?

if not: at the top where you find your design menu.

go to menu
then click side item (last section)
Click levels
then multileves

hope that helps

I purchased Artisteer and now work with version 2.2. Subitems are not showin on live site (dropdown menu). They do show in Artisteer as well as 'example in browser' all settings in Joomla 1.5.11 are o.k. ...

Please, Artisteer people, provide with solution. Site should go live.

Hello,

I had the same problem and solved it.

1. In joomla go in extensions to module manager. Select the module of the menu where you want to use submenu's. At the parameter section make sure you enable "always show submenu's" and also select how deep you like to show the submenu's.

2. Make sure you activate submenu's in the template as explainer above.

Good luck ! Rita from Belgium ARTISTEER IS GREAT !

Hey guys

i downloaded the new demo last night, and got samme problem.
The problem is that Joomla only shows the mainmenu standard.

Activate the topmenu in modules, deaktivate mainmenu.
Set topmenu to user3 posistion, and then do as Rita says. :)

Then i got i to work.

Johnny
2: and you need to activate the topmenu

Johnny,

If read your instructions and understand every step your talking about..
Although, I get stuck on "Activate the topmenu in modules" ?

What do you mean here, and more importantly, where can I find this "topmenu" in my modules? I only have mod_mainmenu and called it mainmenu. I can rename it to topmenu but that won't fix anything..

Please help?

Stefano,

I struggled with this for quite a while as well. I don't think the name of the menu is critical. What is critical is that the mod_mainmenu (with whatever name you call it) be in user3 position.

Then,

Thanks Aaron Mackley, but it doesn't work.

I tryed everything explained above and what others in this topic suggested.

Is there anyone brave enough looking at this problem?
I've put this demo online, information is listed below:

Back-end: http://site.gamearts.nl/administrator/

User: Admin
Password: Admin

Make sure that your main menu module is set to the position of user3 (or in other words your top navigation). Then add your articles, links etc.

in your Joomla admin panel:

Go to Extensions > Module Manager > Main Menu > then set your position for your main menu there.

If you wana check module positions available on your artisteer theme just add /?tp=1 at end of your URL

Stefano,

I see that you are using pretty old Artisteer 2.0.0.13869 version. Moreover, your page has a number of validation errors on the page. Try regenerating your template with Artisteer 2.1 or 2.2, it may help.

Caroline.

I'm also having trouble getting my drop-down to show up in Joomla. I am running the 2.1 version of Artisteer and have tried all the above suggestions. Still not working.

Any other suggestions?

Hi Jenny,

You may also consider providing access to your Joomla back-end so that someone brave can take a look at your settings.
Or at least upload the generated theme somewhere and provide your website's url.

Thanks,
Caroline.

I have had the same problem. I explain how it works.

Joomla comes with the standard option

- Extensions -> Modules -> Topmenu -> Module Parameters -> Always show sub-menu Items "off"

You simply have to enable this option and then you can create Sublevels for e.g. your topmenu.

Be sure you do order the Items who has to shown as an submenu at the right place

e.g.

-Home

-Community
- Forum
- Chat

- Conatact

- Gallery
- 2006
- 2007

and so one. hope it helps

Ive downloaded the trial. Works fine.

What you need for multilevel menus:

In artisteer:

Set "Allow Multilevel Menus"

In Joomla

Enable "Always show submenus"

Order your Menus correct. and i am sure you will get it done :)

Can you help me with my problem posted above xD :)

If its not working with your submenus email me

americas.germans@gmail.com

ill try to help you out then
