I have been attempting to get the front page of my site to have 1 featured article and 2 columns each with a featured article. I have set these preferences for the "Home" page but it still gives me just one column. Anyone have any solutions for this?

The preferences for the HOME menu link item control the layout. You may not be putting in the correct settings.
OR???? Are you looking at the menu link item button that, in fact, opens the home page?
You may have HOME and another button that is actually the "HOME" link item, eh?
