Column problem

This is a bit weird.

I'm using a new template just built in version 3. Three column layout, but for some pages, right hand modules are turned off. The problem is an article accessed through a menu item, for which the right columns are off, appears really narrow.

What is odd about this is that the article is coming from another site, copied and pasted, with a similar layout template built in Artisteer 2. THAT original article is fluid. If the right menus are turned off, the article fills the empty space. In the new one, built in version 3, it won't. In fact, even with the right modules turned on, it's still too narrow, falling to the left as if it were trying to be the left side of a two column category or section layout, but the link is set to open article layout.

I have tried tweaking every setting in Aristeer I can find that might do this. Nothing is working. Very frustrating....

SOLVED

Here is ONE solution to this problem. It wasn't an issue with version 2 templates, but the cause, because of what it is, isn't Artisteer. It's a design, browser, program issue in that a lot of bad coding practices have been allowed for way too long by many systems.

Often, forgetting to close html tags is not an issue. In this case, IT IS.

I NEVER cut n paste from anything directly unless it's been through notepad for for that very reason! :-) Had that problem too often before.
