The new version of Blogger will make my editing during Easter much easier, and will make the use of Tabs in Artisteer easier too.

Briefly, the main improvements of Blogger in Draft are:

> As well as images, Videos can now be inserted directly

> Captions can now be added to images

> Choose which Picassa album the images will be to

> Edit area can now be expanded

> Standalone pages can now be generated (so your Tabs can now point directly to them)

> Dictionary added to the Editor

You can start using all these features right now by choosing Blogger in Draft as your default Dashboard.

You can create only 10 standalones pages. Might be useful for some things like a profil (personally, I've chosen to create a separate blog just for that) but for the blogging itself, they're pretty much useless.

As for your editing, if you want something easier, switch to Windows Live Writer. Much more easier and less painful!

However, I admit that allowing the Edit area to be expanded would bring some serious relief to people using the Edit mode of Blogger instead of a standalone editing software.

Best,
Sylvain

Well the whole reason for me purchasing Artisteer was to have a wider canvass (single column) for my blog posts so I could do the images I use more justice, but the problem was then what to do with all the stuff that normally goes in a side column, the My Profile, Links, Archive, Follow me etc. The solution I thought of was to design my own termplate with Artisteer, make it single column, have tabs or menu buttons under the header, and then make individual posts with my Profile info in, my Links, my Archives, and then have the tabs or menu buttons point to their respective urls. The only drawback to this is that those posts also show up in the Archives.

The new Pages function of Blogger has been one of the commonly requested features, so that things like Profile, Links, Follow Me, Archives etc can be put on those pages, behind buttons and tabs, without showing up in the Archives listing. Ten pages is more than enough for this purpose, and I am very happy they have been introduced now.

Yes, for the profil and a few other things like About Us, the new Pages function are very handy but I would have preferred to have something where I can divide an article into multiple pages but to see only the first page to appears in the frontpage and the archive.

I don't think that having a option to publish a post but make it not visible in the frontpage and/or the archive should be that hard to code.

Best,
Sylvain

Isn't that what the new Jump Break function does?
