Artisteer already creates multilingual themes the only thing you have to do is to include .mo file corresponding to your language.

Following documentation may be helpful: http://www.artisteer.com/?p=help_wordpress#wp3

Can you use that to make it where only the pages / posts can be translated, but not the admin area? I tried the google translate plugin but that just seems so cumbersome, as it covers about a billion languages and all I need is for the front end to be translated from English to French easily with the click of a button :)

Looks interesting, thank you. How difficult is it to set up? Is the $29.00 option sufficient to translate a website? Can it be used on multiple websites or does one need to purchase it for every website?

Thanks, Abland, but it doesn't seem to work in 3.5

Anyone? I know there are about a zillion of you out there who are using this, please take a minute (I know you're busy, and your time in doing so would be SO appreciated) and shed some light on this for me :/

Hi S.

I have been using WPML Plugin for 6 month now.

Two version available :

1. The 79$ version that will translate the text for you (I did not try this version)
2. The 29$ that give you blank pages language pages to add your translation.

The last version work perfectly for me and does a greath job even if it is a bit confusing to use.

Hope this will help you out.

Regards,

Ducktape

Thanks, ducktape. Can you use it on multiple websites or do you need to purchase a new license for each one?

I am practicing with WPML 2.7.1 (upgraded now to 2.8) on WP 3.5.1 to change a rather extensive bilingual html site into a Wordpress site. While translating the content now at the site I am disappointed the copied content formatting does not follow the initial language text format. My second plan is to create the whole site content in both languages in Artisteer (4.1). Does anyone have successful experience of such implementation or the difficulties/solution in core text formatting.

It's worth learning a foreign language at a minimum because it will be your advantage when looking for a job. The more languages you know or, for example, if your English is very good, it will be much easier for you to find more projects. I primarily recommend Promova, where I particularly like the pronunciation material https://promova.com/how-to-pronounce , for language learning. This platform really provides a lot of opportunities to learn languages.
