I received a tech support response that said that there is a way to integrate these templates into other CMS. Does anyone know if it is possible to integrate a template into Zencart and if so how???

Up to date, the only CMS that sucessfully imports Artisteer templates is QuickerSite. No other CMS currently does this. QuickerSite also has a catalog you can use for your e-commerce needs.

QuickerSite LE is free, although limited. QuickerSite is 125 Euros, but it is worth at least 10 times that. No security issues, no plugins that are not compatible, Innova Studio as the editor, as oppose to the crappy TinyMCE, etc... QuickerSite has more core features than any other CMS, and it is much easier to use compared to others. You can develop a complete professional site within hours.

@Nick, Zen Cart is ecommerce, not a CMS !

Getting a little frustrated with all this Quick Site flogging...

Don't think this is the appropriate place.

If your product can't stand on it's own two feet, look at other ways of marketing it !

my 2 cents, Dave

Dave, you have no idea what you're talking about. We have dozens of feet to stand on. But we like Artisteer, because QuickerSite (not QuickSite) has a wonderful integration of Artisteer templates.

Nick's point is very clear: software vendors (well yeah "vendors" is the wrong word here I guess) should not look at Artisteer and "just wait" until they will be supported. They have to pro-actively support Artisteer templates instead.

But guess what: developers who work for free and open source software projects think they are doing a great job and they think they rock. But in reality they are most often lazy losers who don't find a well paid job. And many of their "customers" are losers as well who don't want to pay a penny (and not gonna make one either).

My 1.0000.000 cents :-P

In reply to David G: i recently have implemented an Artisteer template on a PDShop shopping card (http://www.pdshop.com/) There is no way PDShop will ever be "supported" by Artisteer. No way. But software that is well designed can use ANY template generated by ANY template builder. I assume Zencart is well designed as well??? If not, dump it, and buy a decent shopping card...

That PDShop driven shopping card I'm referring to is on http://www.decorationathome.com

Hi Pieter, Sorry for getting the name of the product wrong...

Sorry but I strongly disagree with this statement. How can you be so general about open source software. I certainly don't think that the OpenSource software should be the only way! A good balance is a health thing. But using such terms as 'lazy losers' is plain silly and lowers the level of healthy debate.
I'll leave it at that and move on to something more productive and positive.
I wish you well...

regards, Dave

I agree Dave.

But your "If your product can't stand on it's own two feet..." note was not friendly either.

My point is: I just don't understand why all customers (and developers?) of open source projects are "crying" to be supported by Artisteer.

It took me 2 hours to add basic support for Artisteer in QS 24. It took me 2 days to code a way to upload/unzip/prepare Artisteer ZIP archives in QS 25. I think for developers of open source software, this is piece of cake... Anyway, it should be. But they don't look at this a business opportunity. I do. My customers are already over the moon with this.

But you're right. Let's move on...
