Does the design done with Artisteer are compatible with Joomla 1.6?
If so should we make changes?
Thank you

the error
Fatal error: Cannot access protected property ContentViewArticle::$params in /home1/middler2/public_html/middleriver16/templates/beth_el2/functions.php on line 165
from functions.php is saying that Joomla 1.6 handles the params->
differently. in the template xml they are considered fields.
artiseer is still using the params to get parameters from modules and components as well as templates.
example: $criteria = $page->params->def('show_page_title', 1);
what would be the new syntax to use instead of params?

@ Lucien

Really new to Joomla. I'm using Joomla 1.5 and uploaded a template I created with Artisteer. The template has a vertical menu component but I don't see it in the Joomla Menu Manager. Is the vertical menu a 1.6 thing?
|
|
Garry
|
@ Judy
You should place the main menu module on left or right position(depending on where you designed it in Artisteer) and set its module class suffix to art-vmenu to start using vertical menus, please visit following link for more details: http://www.artisteer.com/?p=help_joomla#joomla5
You can set module class suffix under: Extensions-> module manager-> Click "main menu"-> on your right click "Advanced Parameters"-> fill art-vmenu in "Module Class Suffix" input box.

500 - JHtml: :icon not supported. File not found. Using Artisteer.3.0.0.39952.
What can be the cause of this Joomla 1.7.0 ? Any ideas?

Thanks Andrew
I've just converted from 1.6 to 1.7RC and your fix made my template work again.

Hi Francois,
Joomla 1.7 is not officially released and there is no support for it in Artisteer. Please wait till the Joomla 1.7 is released and then follow the news awaiting the new Artisteer update.

as noted twice already, change the getMessageQueue() code in functions.php ... worked for me with latest version of Joomla 1.6
This hack also works nicely now in Joomla! 1.7.0. Thanks for the suggestion - hope that the artisteer team makes use of it in an update soon.

I tested the new release of Artisteer 3.0.0.41778 with Joomla 1.6.3 with the same sample template that I used for Joomla 1.7
http://j16.jrgweb.net/index.php/art41778
I did not get any errors.
Download the new Artisteer 3 version here. http://www.artisteer.com/?p=download_v3rc

Hi,
The support for Joomla 1.6 is implemented in Artisteer 2.6 and all the 3.0 updates. The latest Joomla 1.7 is supported in the latest 3.0 update available on our news page.

@ Maurice
Artisteer 2.6 and 3.0 created templates are compatible with Joomla 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7, you should provide some details of your issues.

Hi all,
I`ve installed joomla 1.7.0 and artisteer latest version 3.0.0.41778 and get this message on my website:
Fatal error: Call to a member function getMessageQueue() on a non-object in /mnt/webc/40/97/52702797/htdocs/templates/nutzart/functions.php on line 165
With for example beez 2.0 it works without problems.
Someone any idea??
Greetings from Germany

The last time I helped someone with this error, they sent me the artx file and I opened in artisteer exported into a zip file and sent back to them and it worked. Go figure.

@ trotzky
Make sure you are not using a template created with old Artisteer version by mistake as latest version is working just fine on my side, otherwise contacting Artisteer support with your exported template and saved .artx file may be very helpful.

In joomla 1.6 and 1.7 you have to turn preview On.
Go to template manager
A list of templates will show.
At the top of page in the menu select options

Hello everyone,
I have just installed the latest Joomla 1.7 stable version and I'm using Artisteer 3.0.0.3 something to create a template, however i have uploaded and installed it succefully into Joomla but first that error mentioned before here poped up
"Fatal error: Call to a member function getMessageQueue() on a non-object in..... etc etc"
then i fixed it as you all guided and special thanks to that girl that post it first, but after i replaced that command with
"$messages = JFactory::getApplication()->getMessageQueue(); "
yes it got fixed but the side menus bars articles etc have disappeared the only thing you are able to see its the headline and few other stuff.
Is anyone here able to manage such matter?

@ new12212
Templates created with latest Artisteer version should work with Joomla 1.7 out of the box without making code edits, contacting Artisteer support may be very helpful: http://www.artisteer.com/?p=support

Strange this - I have a customised template designed by a company using Artisteer, distributed under the GPU license, working 100% in Webmatrix on my local server and as soon as I upload it I get "Fatal error: Call to a member function getMessageQueue() on a non-object in /home/******/public_html/templates/****/functions.php on line 230"...template displays, but the second I publish an article I get error 500 & no page. Awesome stuff, Artisteer, I was contemplating buying your product, but now you have no chance.

Flatspin, you could just contact the support and ask them if you don't know what the problem is.
I think they know details.

@ Flatspin
Make sure the template is created using latest Artisteer version: http://www.artisteer.com/?p=downloads

hello.
i'm using artisteer3.0 for joomla1.6.6.
i have created template for joomla.
i have set up joomla and install template i made.
i have done that go to module-setting and Extensions -> Module Manager
Module class suffix, change [_menu] to [art-vmenu].
but vertical menu is not shown.
i have already read some articles.
but i cannot solve this problem.

You need to use your custom prefix if you changed it in Artisteer. For example you changed the CSS prefix to chris- you need to use chris-vmenu
