Hi Alex, you will want to use this plugin: http://www.advancedcustomfields.com/

Warning, php is going to be involved. :)

Hi Zach,

Thanks. :-)
Php, at least some basic, shouldn't be a problem. I've read all documentation but somehow still didn't get it how I could implement it on an existing page.

I made new field group, with page rules and now I'm not sure what to do. To open the specific page and add code to various divisions or should I add first field for every division in a Custom file page? Hm..as you can see, I'm pretty new in those Artisteer Wordpress world.

You basically have to define the custom field areas in your page template so that it knows what to pull from. It's a little tricky to explain.

Are you on my mailing list? I'll make a tutorial on this some day soon-ish. :)

Hi Zach - I have a problem with included content. I have Artisteer 4.1. I made a page with a static header image, and an image gallery in the body area. I setup the image gallery with the images, text boxes with descriptions, and the navigation. But, when I export it and include the content, the gallery doesn't work. The first image is displayed, but the navigation doesn't work and it doesn't show my text box and descriptions. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much. Really awesome of you to offer this help. :-D

Zach, thank you so much for the tutorial... it filled in a lot of holes in my knowledge, saving me hours and hours, I am sure, trying to find answers in the manual. So great - and I hope to leads to awesome revenue generation for you.

Quick question: when I exported my template to Wordpress, a textbox I had placed in the header lost the text I'd entered and now just says "My Website."

Everything else seems to be fine (apart from some mobile responsiveness issues, which I will have to resolve later, possibly with a scaled-down version of the site for iphones, etc.).

Thanks again,
Michelle

Hi... I resolved the issue... so, never mind.

Also, could you privately email me and tell me how much a half hour of consulting would cost?

Thanks!

Hi Zach,

I've been using Artisteer for a while, but having problems with the left margin. If I create a new theme in Artisteer and export to Wordpress, the text I create is too far to the left. This seems buggy. How do you get around this?
As an example, in Artisteer this can be replicated as text is put in 'cells'.
http://chrisjlocke.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/2013-01-24-162718.jpg

In Wordpress, this text is a bit more to the left than shown here. I've tried using margins, padding, etc on content, but it doesn't seem to apply. I've bodged it by setting a margin to the text, but you've got to do the same to headings, etc too, which is a mess. I'm obviously doing something wrong...

Hi Zach.
Compliments for your wordpress tutorial.
When I try to upload from the dashboard of wordpress the zip file (content included) created by export of Atisteer on my PC , the system, remains in connection for a couple of minutes and then goes always in error giving the same generic giustifications like "Overloaded server"" and so on..
I discovered that I could upload the files extracted from zip-file manually via Filezilla or Dreamweaver but I don't know where I have to upload, in wich folders of my site. Thanks for your help :-<

Hi Zach, I have uploaded an artisteer theme to my Wordpress site and would like to add a logo, I can't seem to figure out the correct code or placement of code to keep my header image and include my logo. Thoughts?

Okay I've wasted an entire day of my life so far and can't figure this out.

I have a wordpress theme I just made with Artister.

I added the plugin 'Author hReview' one of the things it does it adds googles rich snippets feature.

Now when I go to test a post via google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets I get the following error:

hatom-feed
hatom-entry:

updated: February 3, 2013
published: February 3, 2013
author:

fn: mcnallen
person-name:

url:
casinosusa.net/author/mcnallen/

Warning: Missing required field "entry-title".

As I found searching the web all night, It says for error "Warning: Missing required field "entry-title"." I need to add h1 class="entry-title" ?php the_title(); ? /h1 to the title tag... But it seems to make no difference.

I get this error with almost every theme I try except twenty-thirteen, that theme works fine, so its my theme not the plugin. Also, casinosusa.net/author/mcnallen/ is Not the url I am testing when I get that error, its a post: casinosusa.net/atlantis-gold-casino/

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi There,

I have a quick question about Artisteer 4, adding images or shapes to project that is a fixed width site with a full width header seems to give the following result which i only experience in Artisteer 4.

website width = 1000px
header width = full width

browser width can go up to 1920px so lets assume i have it at 1600px, when the page loads all is fine and header objects / images are correct. Refreshing the page or navigating to another page on the same site ( that has the same header objects ) causes the following problem effect:

all images/shapes in the header jumps from there correct position either to left or right side of browser width for about 2-3 seconds ( while page loads, even if it is a simple text page loading ) then jumps back to their correct positions once page has loaded.

This has never happened with Artisteer 3 (i may be wrong but noticed typical new "data-left="99.12%" type commands being used in the header.php ) which i am assuming is where the problem is coming from...

Can anyone please tell me if they had a problem with something similar and how they fixed it.

PS! i have responsive turned off on my theme before exporting.

Kind regards

Tudor

Hey Zack I would love your assitance.

I want to change where the menu buttons send people to. I want to change the links to an another wp site outside the one they are on.
When I pull up the source code for the page I'm on I can see the line I need to change but when I go into my FTP I can' t find the file that contains that information. I have also looked in my dashboard and can't find anything inside there.

The site I'm working on is at http://transformationslasvegas.com/
And I want to change line #150

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Zach,

I have having great difficulty inserting a header image which is the size of the header, into the header of an artisteer template such that it automatically resizes (in the same way as the Twenty Eleven theme). All it does is crop the image (wrongly, so that some of the image is not showing). I used the option in Artiseer "Resize image to header"

Nothing I do seems to work. I just want my whole 940x250 image to resize when the user changes their browser size or uses a mobile (I am using the responsive option).

I can't seem to find a solution to this elsewhere.

I looked at your course Module 5 part 8. A good course.

Thanks

Hi Zach, Can I ask for your help with my issue please.

I need to know what code to amend in header.php so that a call to an include file is made when the page loads. The include file for each page on the website will be different.

The header.php code also needs to be amended to remove any title or description text being added to the page as that will be part of the include file called.

I know how to do the includes but amending the header.php file to call them and remove the title and description is driving me to distraction.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Hi Zach,

Like you I am a designer, not a coder, but I have been designing websites quite successfully for 3 years now.

Here is my problem: after exporting my theme and importing/activating in WP (instantWP), there is a problem that is driving me nuts: the cell padding, borders and fill are not showing (preview or site)

It works perfectly in browser preview (IE/Chrome/Firefox)

Other Artisteer templates have the same problem, seems mainly with cell formatting ie border, fill, padding etc.

I have tested 3 other (non Atristeer) themes, including 2012 with no problem, so the problem seems to be in the exporting/importing of Artisteer into WP.

I have been trying to solve this on my own for 2 days with no luck, what am I doing wrong?

Hi Tighthead, can you shoot me a link to your site so I can take a look? And just to confirm, the issue only happens on the live site, not the preview, right?

Hi Minime, can you please post a link to your site so I can see what you've got? It may be a simple css-only tweak, but could also involve re-ordering some stuff in the php.

I have a simple theme built with Art4. I just need a header some menus and a footer - which I have done. My only problem is when I shrink the browser window to less than the width that I set (900), the header starts to reformat itself and messes the whole thing up. I just want the whole page to hide from the right if the browser width is too small.

I am running this on an inhouse system, but could send you the theme to look at. No blogs, just a couple pages (with some really cool new technology though).

Actually my older theme does a similar thing on the active site http://bananahama.com.

Any help to make this tweak will be greatly appreciated!!

Hi Barry, it sounds like you may want to simply disable the responsive theme. Here's a video showing how to do it;

Does this help?
