Try uploading it from Extensions-> Extensions Manager from your Joomla admin.

You need to have Artisteer 4.1 for Joomla 3 but that version is not available for Macs yet.

Artisteer 4.1 is fully compatible with Joomla 3
I just tried uploading a template from 4.1 to Joomla 3.0... my site has now crashed and I have a 404 error. Even if I switch back to the default Beez3 template... no luck. Still get the 404 error.

This error has nothing to do with Artiseer, it is a Joomla 3 issue. I made a Youtube video on how to solve this issue. Look up how to fix joomla 3 404 error after new installation. As far as I know Artiseer works fine with Joomla 3

Ina, you are welcome to try one from the extensions for this purpose on Joomla backend -- https://www.google.com/search?client=opera&q=joomla+slider+gallery+module&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&channel=suggest
Also you may like using collages in content area in Artisteer itself (put an image, right-click it -> new Slide).
Juan, Artisteer 4.1.0.59861 supports up to Joomla 3.0 as it was the latest version to the moment Artisteer 4.1 was released. However Artisteer 4.2 supports Joomla 3.1 and 3.2 as well.
