Ok one more new problem
With the non beta version when i have a no side bar layout and place the Cats, Blogroll and Archives at the bottom it show them one time at the bottom of all the posts.
With the beta version is shows the Cats, Blogroll and Archives under every post making everything look very messey.
Repets of the Cats, Blogroll and Archives under every post are not a good thing.
I had to take off the Cats, Blogroll and Archives for one site to be able to use the other beta features. I have a few more site i need to work with this to,
Please fix this to.
Thanks

Two things that I've found... One is a bug, the other is a new 'feature' that I don't like.
1. Now the sites say "Web Template created with <Artisteer>" with a link. I don't think that's necessary for a paid product. I can understand if you were giving this away free, that you'd want to spread news about it through footer information like WordPress does, but for a paid product, the comment tags were enough.
2. If you double click the Artisteer Button (If that's what you call it... The menu button at the top left), the program closes.

Hello,
I'm still lokking for a solution. I installed Joomla completly a second time to find the reason, but its still the same.
1.In Artiseer the articles-design looks great and when i put it up to template, there is no background ,no border and no header-block in the articles. In the sidebar ecerything is allright.
2.The Top-Menu don't work. Submenu expanding failed (Scriptproblem?)
I testet in Firefox and IE7, there is no different.
I hope someone can help me, has anyone the same problem?
best regards

Kerick,
to 1: you can easy remove this block from generated code. For example in Joomla template edit the ..\templates\<template_name>\index.php file; in WordPress theme edit ..\wp-content\themes\<theme_name>\footer.php file.
to 2: I suppose that this is behavior by design, the Artisteer v1 acts in the same way.

Ok, let me put a little perspective on this.
The Beta version is just that, BETA. it's not a release, not yet anyway. So, there may be some things that are not working completely or small bugs.
If you have an issue with the product, such as an error, please send it directly to support at the support@artsiteer.com email address. Make the subject line something like BETA VERSION ERROR. That will help them separate the emails from support issues and beta bugs.
As far as links in the themes generated, almost every program that generates any kind of output for HTML, CSS or other web technologies ALL put some kind of 'stamp' on their output, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, SiteGrinder, CoffeeCup, HTMLPad -- all of them. It is not uncommon and in all instaces, you can remove that stamp by editing the files.

Quote DaveLloyd:
I have encountered three more small bugs in the Joomla section of the new beta version of Artisteer.
1. Contact Us page has no padding, all the content is placed to the extreme left of the page, also font size is incorrect.
This problem arises when I modify a three column template (saved from the 'Suggest Design' option).
If I export the initial three column template from Artisteer, it works perfectly. As soon as I reduce it to two columns and export it, I get the problem with the Contact Page.

I agree with Kerrick. It's a paid product. I use it to design themes for my clients. They obviously don't want a link to artisteer. It may be easy to remove, but its a boring and manual process. The same for the info of the Author, at least in v1. You have to manually modify the Author and Company info for the theme. I sen't my feedback to Artisteer team, reasoning that the Author is me as Artisteer is a tool.
Imagine Photoshop, DW or Fireworks with an output that says "created with <tool> and a link to adobe :S
If everybody remove this link manually, it should'nt be in the product. Maybe in a free edition

After a bit of experimentation, my guess is that 'Contact Pages' in Joomla templates that 'appear' to work at present, only do so because they are relying on padding added in the 'Sheet' options.
It should be quite simple to rectify this in CSS/PHP files, but I haven't figured out how to do so yet.

If you know where to look, the CSS create by most of these programs do have an author statement or programming statement.
It's a two second fix to remove the code.
It's also a two second fix to edit the assembly files located in the Artisteer directory so that it puts in the4 info YOU want.
And how many hours of work did Artisteer save you?
Do you remove the Wordpress links? Do you edit the links that are sometimes included in plug ins?
This tool was originally designed for users who knew nothing about making a theme, so I figure Artsiteer put their stamp on it, a little link love as it is called.
If you are a 'designer', then you realize how powerful the tool is and having to make a minor edit verses the time it saves should be a no-brainer.

@ Marc, I think the same, As a Webdesigner I've waited a long time for Software like Artisteer. It's very comlicated to build a Template like this for Joomla. It needs a lot of time to change a free or commercial Template for my clients, or to built a Template in Dreamweaver with div and css. I am very glad, that I'm allowed to remove the Link. The way to remove is for a Webdesigner no problem.
best regards
sorry for my bad english

I know it's no hassle to remove it, it's not that big of a deal, just a bit of the principle of the thing. In fact, I wouldn't have posted it if it weren't for the actual bug I found. That was the main point of that post.
But yeah, I tried it in Artisteer v1 also, and double clicking the Artisteer button also forces a quit in that too.

I have made my first template with the beta version and exported it to Joomla.
** Print, Email, PDF icons do not show up even when set to do so from within Joomla backend.
When can i expect an update for this? It's very important for the maintenance in the front-end of Joomla.
Thanx for all the good work.

Erwin,
Send your informationa dn findings to support@artisteer.com
The Artisteer staff doesn't get in here much as they are busy fixing bugs for the new Beta.
You will get a quicker response that way.

Mike, I'm not quite sure to understand you. Do you want to change the Shadow color? If so I think it's not possible.

You are working with Joomla, are you? I noticed such problem on my joomla 1.5 template and submitted it to Artisteer yesterday. Hope, they will fix it in the next update.
Quote Dave:
The contact page still breaks the template. It changes the font size and squeezes everything up against the left edge of the page.
Sorry to say, but I still cannot replicate the problem. I played around the contact us page creating different combinations but the font size and the whole text look ok for me. Your sample link does not seem to work now, but I suppose, the issue is specific to the template. You may consider contacting Artisteer support about it, they are always very helpful in resolving such issues.
Have a good day!
Caroline.

I agree that it's just not a big deal to take out the Artisteer link if you want to. But look at it from their perspective: by having it in there, many people will proudly display those links to their fantastic, time saving, product.
Marketing is a hard business - and I don't fault Artisteer at all for putting those links in. They should however, switch this to a REAL forum like PHPBB or SMF!

Amen on the need for a better forum. Heck, I will install it for you for free if you want. Just send me a pm.

Guys,
Why have you setup two Beta locations, A load of us have been providing updates to the beta forum for the last 2 weeks, and now I see why we havent been getting any responses from you, your the ones who setup the other areas...
So much for us leaving feedback as to bugs if your going to have multiple areas for feedback.
Thanks a lot guys!

Artisteer is using this forum as it ties into their backend systems and CMS, not just for Artisteer, but for other work they do as well.
I know they have other plans for the forum and are implementing changes slowly, such as the search functionality.
If you want to send in bugs or issues, send them directly to support@artisteer.com The support staff comes in here and looks for issues and serious problems and they make note of the suggestions, but it's hard for them to answer every question or comment on every suggestion... that is if youwantthem to finish version 2 any time soon.

I created a theme in the new beta version, and next time I opened it it said that it was created with an older version and would be opened in compatibility mode. What's up with that?
|
| |
Marc Smith

I'm not sure what the issue is. I haven't seen this error myself.
I know there is a backwards compatibility mode to support ARTX V1 templates.

I am also facing this problem. The theme created with v 2.0 ... when we reopen the same file again it says it is created with old version and opening in compatibility mode and removes one of the sidebars, etc.
BTW, I have both v1.0 and v2.0 beta on same machine (ofcourse on different location). So what's wrong ?
|
| |
Marc Smith

I am *guessing* that having both version 1 and 2 on the same machine might be an issue.
I have the beta on a machine by itself and I can open, create, save, re-open and save the ARTX files without any issues.

To Tara, Sun sun: I also experience the same issue when I open .artx files created with previous beta. It seems to be beta version compatibility and we have to avoid from creating complex projects with betas.

I love your software, seized the opportunity at $99, etc.
But I've been trying to change my joomla template several times, to no avail.
Left column shows on the right, and I'm getting no right column, etc.
white field in center column doesn' show, so I still have the background color behind the text.
I cannot use it at this stage, unfortunately...

I'm not sure why this point needs to be made over and over again
Anything you build for JOOMLA or DRUPAL is BETA software and as a result the code may or may not work properly.
The software is still having issues fixed with it and anyone that is building and using templates built in Artisteer for JOOMLA nd DRUPAL should do so at their own RISK.
If you have an issue, take screen shots, zip them up with the original ARTX file and theme files and send them to support @artisteer.com
That is the ONLY place where errors and problems are going to be solved for the BETA software.
