We are happy to announce Beta version of Drupal 8 compatibility plug-in for Artisteer 4.3.

Please note that Beta products carry increased risk of malfunctioning and are not recommended for use with live websites. However, we welcome your feedback and bug reports.

Artisteer 4.3 for Windows(4.3.0.60928) can be downloaded here:
http://www.artisteer.com/media/p4/files/Artisteer.4.3.0.60928.exe

Known Issues:
FTP installation only.
• No styled Post Metadata Footer.
• Menu modules are not wrapped in Artisteer blocks if they are located in any region except Vertical Menu Region. Currently they have simple style.
• No styles for comments form.
• No Footer and Copyright Regions. The content added in Artisteer is always used.
• No Artisteer pagination wrapper.
• A few other minor issues.

All these issues will be fixed in the next plug-in update (in a week or two).

Also, the first Beta release does not support Content Importing. Currently we are investigating the possibility of implementing Content Importing feature for Drupal 8.

Thank you,
Artisteer Team

Hi,

The export plugin was updated with the following fixes:

• Fixed issue with Vertical Menu Block Header
• Fixed issue with Vertical Menu Subitems
• Fixed issue with Post Metadata Footer.
NOTE: In Drupal 8 the Tags and other taxonomy terms are separate controls with own templates. Therefore they cannot be styles as Post Metadata Footer. Now Post Footer style is used for node links only.
• Fixed issue with TABS menu. To display Tabs menu please place Tabs block into the "Content" or any other region.
• Fixed issue with non-menu blocks in the Vertical Menu region.
• Fixed display issue with menu blocks in all regions except Vertical Menu region.
• Fixed issue with Footer and Copyright Regions.

Thank you,
Artisteer Team

It's good to hear, that Artisteer is getting some attention.
Are there any chance of having few new features to Artisteer itself as like Themler?

Does that mean that we can not currently import the content we develop in Artisteer into Drupal? Like I do for instance with Joomla. I build the entire site with Artisteer including all content and import it in. Just looking for clarification.

Thanks in advance!
Kelly

P.S. Thanks for showing us you haven't completely abandoned Artisteer. From your lack of news and comments by the community, that is what it appeared to be. I know for a fact it has cost you money. Even myself I have delayed updating my subscription due to what the community perceived as your abandonment of the software called Artisteer. Perhaps it would be a good idea to communicate better?

Yes, unfortunately content importing is not available at this time.
But we plan to implement this feature in the future.

Thank you,
Helga

Reverts to trial edition ? I cannot save the themes I generate, even though the activation does say it's activated.

Hi Helga, delighted to see that Artisteer is supporting Drupal 8, I have 4.2 but when I use your link the installation process says it will remove Artisteer from my system - I obviolulsy don't want to lose use of the 4.2 I've bought and use in Drupal 7. Can I have the Beta 4.3 trial going as well as the full 4.2 ?

This update is truly a beta update. There are limitations:

1. This is trial software, even if you have a valid license (as I do) and enter it. It does accept the license but it appears to not matter.
2. The exported Drupal 8 theme has "Trial" all over the place, even if you have a valid license. I'm not sure why this would be in place unless the Drupal 8 roll-out will require different licensing (Artisteer v5?/v4.4?)
3. In testing the export functionality of a default theme (no changes, etc.) it completely wrecks my site. I assume this means it has a long way to go. This is beta after all. From what I can tell this is nowhere near ready for production sites.
4. You can't download anything from the marketplace since this is considered trial software, even with a valid license

Like the others, I'm very pleased that there is work being done on this software. It saves me a lot of time and as a programmer, not an artist, it has saved me a lot of time. Be aware though that you will be required to remove any other Artisteer software before installing this beta. For most people you really don't need to install this beta as it won't do what you want it to. There must be other changes in play as part of this beta since the link to the marketplace doesn't work anymore with your license. Not sure if that is because the license is getting ready to get a revamp. Perhaps Drupal 8 export will be a marketplace plug-in that will have a cost (all the ones in the marketplace are free currently.) Not sure.
