Same problem here. When I try to change the background color.
Just upgraded to the latest version of Artisteer. It did'nt happen with the previous version.
Any thoughts about this problem is welcome.

After much head-bashing, a thousand uninstalls and re-installs of the software, an update to the newest version, turning Framework 3.51 on and off in the control panel, (Windows 7), running fix it tools and clean up tools, and and and a windows repair, nothing worked.
Finally, I mailed the Artisteer team directly and was advised to turn off AVG antivirus if I had it on my computer. Which I did.
After uninstalling AVG, problem solved!!!!!

Thanks Gretl!! Uninstalling AVG fixed the problem for me too. Disabling AVG for 10 minutes etc did not work; had to actually uninstall it.
