I really hope not. I love this program.

Maybe it's time to think about effective marketing though.

For instance, as a responsive website builder alone, it's very good. Much better than other offerings just coming to market e.g Coffee Cup or Xara Responsive Website Designers.

Makes sense, since version 4.1. Artisteer not many provide new features, only minor bugs fixed.

But I like Artisteer, I hope it does not happen.

I myself have send over 40 suggestions to make to artisteer. But they dont improve program.. Would like to know why? Only they say that code is complicated and it is hard to add new features..

How about clening and improving code that it is more easily mainained..

How about to get more or more talented coders to work..

If it's difficult to add new features and developement iż stopped i would suggest to open the code for opensource community instead of abandon this fantastic program

In my opinion, the decision to switch everything to Themler is a mistake. It should be alternative and not replacement for Artisteer. I really don't like the idea of Themler to be an on-line application - for me it works extremely slow and it is not intuitive like Artisteer, makes impression of being unstable. What is more, the available example templates for Virtuemart made with Themler are simply broken and not usable.

I'm going to to use Artisteer as long as it works and when it is no longer possible I will probably go back to write templates with bluefish editor as before. Or maybe Themler will become a standalone app? I am afraid that it is not going to happen.

That's why I suggested to release the code of Artisteer for opensource community :)
Cheers

It's hard for us to determine whether switching to Themler is a mistake or not because we don't know what the financials are. For all we knew, Artisteer was losing money and they had to do something different.

Themler has its problems but it's still beta. And at least they're doing weekly updates fixing bugs, adding new features. Themler is suppose to get a standalone version and support artx files.

Your last point about open sourcing Artisteer is crazy talk.

First, why would they open source? There's no advantage or incentive for them. It's not like they're going out of business. They want to push everyone over from Artisteer to Themler.

Second, let's be real. 99.999% of Artisteer users couldn't code a hello world app if their life depended on it. You think anyone around here has the skills to add new features and fix bugs? If you did, you wouldn't even be using Artisteer in the first place.

Unfortunately it is hard to believe but it seems really Artisteer does not go much beyond what is. It seems that the development stopped and I doubt that new versions will be launched in the short term. For me, it has been too costly to renew the license for updates that occur with one or at most 2 per year, and for 2015 do not have new versions hopes. :-(

I feel if we did pay the additional money for an extra year of upgrades, we should be entitled to a free upgrade to atleast the $45 edition of Themeler (I appreciate the discount they are giving, dont get me wrong)

Almost one year without a simple update

We have an idea on how to improve Artisteer - make it also a native mobile app platform, keeping all of the design features and adding widgets to make apps that Apple, in their esteemed "Godliness" will approve.

If the coding is too hard offer some people in the Forums who can code the chance to code some extra functions for them. In return give them a subscription or a discount.

From one Michael to another, let me assure you that a programmer who's capable enough to fix bugs and add features to Artisteer simply wouldn't trade those services for a full-years subscription, let alone a mere discount. The idea is laughable.

The top Themler subscription is $200/year. A good programmer will charge $100/hr but let's be completely conservative and say $50/hr. That's 4 hours of work. It might take a programmer at least 4 hours to just go through the code to get themselves familiar even before they start doing any fixes or anything new.

I think the point has already been made. Anyone with even moderate programming skills isn't using Artisteer.

I have to agree with those who say Themler is a worthy replacement and the age of Artisteer has come to an end.

Themler can only do what your internet connection can do!

How dumb and stupid can people be .... We need an app that works all the time, irrespective of how fast your internet connection is.

I cant believe that they rely on lines to make a living, what if there's another war in some country or other, what if many things. It is stupid. Bring Artisteer back to what it should be. An application! Tired of dumb people ....

You dont want that Themler demands Internet connection. But at the same time you ask for new Artisteer version that demands Internet connection.

It goes fast working in Themler. Just buy licence and try. Most of Themler important code is inside your browser cache (in RAM if window not minimized).

well....... I make good money because of Artisteer template. It helps me get a good site up in under and hour and it can be original as you want with a bit of tweaking...... whats better than that?
