Should I upgrade from 4.1?

I have been using Art since V3 and have 4.1 now since that came out. My question is why should I upgrade? What are the differences? I hear there are issues around exporting sites as WP themes. I only use Art for wp themes.

Any advice would be most helpful

I've had no trouble what so ever using 4.1 with the new wordpress.

The only real difference I have seen between the newer versions and 4.1 is you have to be online to export wordpress themes and sometimes their server is down so you have to wait.

4.1 has been good for me. I like being able to do my work offline form anywhere even when there is no internet or wifi.

I work off line a lot so having to be online to export a theme is almost a deal breaker for me.

I know what you mean. People living in big cities seem to take broadband for granted. I recently travel to the bible belt and you would be surprised how hard it in in some place to get any type of internet or even a cell signal. I was getting Zero bars with sprint and had no internet or wifi or anything for weeks. It was pure torture. I had to do all my work then drive and hour to the city to publish it.

At least with 4.1 I was able to do and test all my work offline and then publish the completed working projects when I got into a bigger city. 4.2 would have put me out of business.

I'm still wishing for professional level wordpresssoftware. Working on raising capital to fund it myself..

I'd like to know the same thing, I've been putting off upgrading since 4.1 and as I use WP Tuxedo as my export plugin (and loving it) I'd like to know what I'd gain by upgrading?

All I can see is more control over the responsive design layout with being unable to export themes offline as a very big downside.

I very rarely use Artisteer for anything other than WordPress, although the promised but never provided ecommerce plugins would be a huge deal clincher for me.

I was using The Templateer on 4.1/2 and the fact that this is not available for 4.3 was for me the deal breaker.. Tuxedo is developing apace and I have now switched completely to Artisteer and Tuxedo and am very happy with the result. I have added Page Builder as a plugin to most sites and now I say yes to clients far more often.

We all want improvements and we don't like change. Sometimes we fail to recognise the contradiction of that position.

Change can be good and change can be bad.

Change is good when it's an improvement.

Change is bad when it's a step backward.

I was so close to buying 4.3 the other day. But then I was able to do things better with 4.1 and some awesome responsive header widgets.

My client was super happy and even paid me a bonus on top of my fee. :-)

Life is good and I'm pleased with 4.1. :-)

Can you please share which plugins you are using?

Thanks
