It's gone, dead, won't work, tried everything... now what!
The only message is the "Artisteer Stopped Working, Windows checking for solution..."
This was just out of the blue. It's been working fine for the past year or more. No error message, no log (that I could find). Just dead...
I've removed and reloaded, tried latest version, restored to previous restore point, rebooted,.... now WHAT?
Frustrated!

Try re-installing the .NET Framework

I have loaded .NET Framework 4.5.1
Should I delete and re-install just 3.5.1?
Thanks!

Hi Ron,
"Artisteer has stopped working" error is typical if your system doesn't have enough rights (permissions) to write in this folder:
C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Artisteer\Artisteer4
You need to go to this folder "Artisteer4" - right click - Properties - Security and edit Permissions (all Permissions have to be allowed).
If this doesn't help, please contact Artisteer support via this link http://www.artisteer.com/?p=support and let us know your Artisteer version.
Thanks,
Elvira

Such a pain... I've tried all of the above suggestions and still no JOY!
Apparently I made the mistake of installing Net Framework 4.5 thinking that this would be the latest and should work when 3.5 is a requirement. That didn't work out...
I'm back to square one trying to sort all this out. Tina B has been contact and gives the same basic info...

Are you by chance near Atlanta Georgia?
If not, I'll try to give additional suggestions
later tonight.

You may have a bug...infection, try get spybot and malwarebytes, load them them run the spybot from the safe mode and see if that helps!, then again from the wndindoz full mode. When you boot up hold down the F8 key, boot from safe mode with networking. unless your in an office do it without network.
if find bug clean them out and run it again! them malwarebytes. just to be safe!
good luck,!

This so sucks... I've removed and re-installed Net Framework 2.0, 3.5, & 4.5. I've installed all updates and still the same Artisteer problem and now more programs will not start. Also ran NetFxRepairTool. And, rebooted many times...
What have i missed?
I can't imagine re-building Windows 7 but may have to. Or may going to Win 8.1 would fix all this.
I'm in California and have run security scans and all appears to be fine.

There is no Artisteer folder in Roaming. I'm guessing that after removing and re-installing (4.3) and not running it never created this.

I have checked permissions and Allow is checked in all cases except for Creator Owner. That does not change and stays blank.

I installed .net 4.5.1 on a system that had artisteer
4.2 trying to duplicate the problem but Artisteer still
ran without issues. I then installed Artisteer 4.3 along
side of 4.2 and still no issues.

It appears the 3.5 SP1 will not fully install. I'm still working this...

Hi Ron,
jrgweb is right, Artisteer requires .net framework 3.5.1 for correct functioning. Please see this thread for help with Windows7 and .net framework 3.5.1
http://serverfault.com/questions/33521/install-net-3-5-sp1-on-windows-7-rc
If it won't help, please feel free to contact support directly for faster responses.

If you end up doing a fresh install of win7. I suggest you make an image of your hard drive after you have all the updates and software installed.
You should use Acronis. http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119&wdc_lang=de It's free if you have a western digital hard drive.
That way if anything ever goes wrong again you can simply restore the image and everything will work again just like a new computer. I've been doing it for years. Works like a charm.
