Module positions in sample templates |

Hello,
I was looking through some of the sample templates on this site and I am dumfounded on how some of the module positions are set up. For example the following template has 3 module positions (green, green yellow) over the content with a sidebar. According to my module chart there is not 3 modlule positions in a row between the top and the content

Another example is

The three in a row modle postions (mission, practice, strategy) are also next to the sidebar.
Does anyone know how this is achieved. I tried downloading the .artx file to take a look but I can't open it in my version of Artisteer even though I am running the latest version 3.1.0.55575 it says that the file is for a newer version.

These are not module positions. They are articles (content).
