I've browsed through most of these threads for Wordpress, but haven't seen one that asks my question.
I've looked at the sample templates and found some that feature either tables, or a widget area. Here's a sample: http://templatefiles.artisteer.com/201/HTML/index.html
Are there any instructions on how to accomplish this? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Artisteer themes come with 4 footer widget areas. Use those to accomplish what you want. In your case you would probably use text widgets and html is allowed, along with the Pages widgets to show custom menus. It's up to your imagination really. But it all starts from the widgets screen.

Correction: For the custom menus, you need the Vertical menu widget, so for links you can use either that or the Pages widget. You can filter out the links in either case.

Hi, Peggy,
I seem to recall that in the admin Appearance > Theme Options - when you select to override default footer content the footer widgets become available

Thank you so much Abland. This must be something new to version 4.

That is a painful solution, because I did not really want to override the theme's footer.... but I am obliged too, otherwise, the footer is not available to add widgets
