New license with older version

Hi.
I am considering buying a license to Artisteer. I have played around with an old 3.0 trial version for a while, and just read up on the forum for the latest news. Now I see 4.0 is the version that can be downloaded, but the forum is steaming with less-than-happy users. Some even recommend to use the latest 3.1 for the time being.
But what if I buy a license now when 4.0 is released? Can I then use the new license for the older version 3.1? And right now (not being a paying customer yet) I can't even find a download link for 3.1.

- V4 was released in September.
- If you look in the forums there were a lot of people complaining about version 3 as well. My point? Yes, there are minor problems, nothing major, excluding some jquery conflicts with SOME external jquery plugins.
- You can still download and try version 4, before you buy a license, and decide yourself.
- If you are going to get a license, get the Standard edition ($129), the Home edition is like Chinese food. You will be satisfied for a while, but will get hungry again for more, very quickly!
- If you are a web site designer, don't even think about it. You will get your money back, and some, with your first paid project.

Notes: Great product, rubbish support. They respond fast to your submitted tickets, but most of them are clueless and useless. That said, Artisteer is one of my most important tools to help me run my business.

To get a sure answer for this question enter a ticket here: http://www.artisteer.com/?p=support

Regarding V4, I agree with Nick's sentiments. Great product, poor support. A few quirks here and there in V4. V3 made better looking templates out of the box than V4 does, but overall V4 wins.

Thanks. I guess you just read more of the negatives than the positives on the forum.
I am not going to use it for anything advanced, and certainly not professionally. I am just tired of my very dull and boring looking homepage, which I write in OpenOffice (yes you may laugh now). I won't use any CMS at all. I only want to make a good looking homepage design with easy navigation between subpages, and then export it directly to html. I guess Artisteer should be up to this task without any problems, right?

Yes, you can activate 3.x versions with 4.0 version license key.
