Custom Walker in Theme conflicts with Plugin |

I am trying to use the pluin "Nav Menu Roles". It allows you to turn off Menu Items based on Roles of Login status.It is exactly what I need.
The plugin uses a "custom walker". The Artisteer theme also apparently uses a custom walker to generate code for the menu. It seems you can only use one custom walker.
Plugin works fine in Twenty-Eleven, but doesn't work in Artisteer4 generated theme.
Suggestions?
