I use Artisteer.4.0.0.58475 I tried to save the temp. but it says
Unable to save file.
Object reference not set to an instance of on object.
What does that mean.. I'm new at this.

Verify that you don't have any other directories with artisteer4 even a directory name.

What do you mean by any other directories? I have version 3 and unistalled before installing version 4.
Should I check the registry?

I don't think is registration related but with all the strange things happening who knows. I'm having so many problems with v4. The slider makes the Artisteer almost unusable and very unpredictable so I'm not creating it within the Artisteer anymore but the latest problem I just started to have is that I'm unable to save the .artx file (I can do exports). What I get as an Error message is:
Unable to save file.
Exception has been thrown by the target of invocation.

Had the same problem but it was only on my desktop not my laptop. So I uninstalled both 3 and 4 completely. I used Revo Uninstaller which removes all traces including registry entries. Reinstalled them both and no more invocation error.
The current version I am using 59100 is very wonky. I hope a new official release comes out soon. Having a heck of a time with the site I am working on now.

I read somewhere on this forum that the saving problem and images not been saved had something to do with the folder and spaces in the name.
For example
my artisteer projects
should be
my_artisteer_projects
or
myartisteerprojects
I have not tested it because my folder is 1 name only.

Not sure if anyone has solved this but I have stumbled across a solution.
I was unable to save my work and I had the "Unable to save file.
Exception has been thrown by the target of invocation."
I was gutted because it had been a couple hours since I had last saved but...
I went to 'save as' and then renamed the file 'name.zip' rather than 'name.artx' (have file extensions turned on).
It saved without any problems. I then renamed the zip file from 'name.zip' to 'name.artx'. (dont worry if the thumbnail does not change to an image of your site).
Load this in to Artisteer as you would with any other project.
Then re save as an Artisteer file (.artx) with out any problems.
I have only done this once with Artisteer 4. So I do not know if it will always work but hope it helps.

A solution that worked for me for 4.1 was to enter in the activation code fresh, wait till the activation had been confirmed, shut down and then restart.
I hope it works for everyone else.

Im having same problem, I dont believe the support for Artisteer haven't answered this yet !!!!!!!
Plus Im using for mac which takes forever for the change to show up !
I paid a good money on this software and Im having lots of crash issues !!!

Hi,
I had earlier same problem, but i have solved.
My solution is:
- full uninstall artisteer 4
- create manually a new folder with individually name (eg.: artis41)
- install the latest artisteer 4 into this folder
- registrer and done

Salve, ho creato un sito, www.cpmsystem.it , l'ho pubblicato sul web, non ho generato file artx, poi si è bloccato il computer. Ora il mio sito è in HTML e non so' come modificarlo con artisteer. Che soluzione avete ? Grazie Fto Brandolini Orlando
