After 2 days of searching the web, contacting technical support both artisteer and my hosting company regarding the Import content problem.

I went to check the folder permissions on ftp and they're all 0777 changed it to 0755 and tried clicking "Import content" from the joomla administration and there puff it worked!!!!

Hope this helps!

It does work, but you won't see a confirmation message. However, when you visit the front end, the changes are right there...

Using Fireftp right slick on any file/folder on right side(server file/folders) and you'll get an option to reset permissions.

You can also do it from your hosting control panel.

Download Filezilla or simply add Fireftp addon to Firefox.

Please keep in mind that Joomla 3.1 is not fully compatible with Asrtisteer versions lower than 4.2 - so problems with content import in 3.1 can be caused by incompatibility issues - make sure to to use the proper Artisteer version.

Lee, perhaps this internal version is still available for your license -- it may work better with Joomla 3.1 but not in all cases:

I have Joomla 3.3.0 and Artisteer 4.2.0.60623 Standard Edition.
My webserver has the correct permissions already 755. And it's not working. I even tried to change to 777 on the templates folder but no success. On a Joomla 2.5 installation it is working fine.

Quote Paul:

The issue is an unresolved conflict between Artisteer and the default Joomla 3 Administrator Template (isis).

A work around is to temporarily change the Administrator default template from "isis" to "Hathor". This allows the import of the content.
After successful import of the content change the Administrator default template back to "Hathor".

Hello Andrea,
the issue may be related to template size (I assume that it's pretty large) and PHP settings.
Check and adjust the setting in php.ini file as shown here:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?p=1556804
http://blog.paulgu.com/programming/increase-upload-size-in-your-phpini/

In case it does not help please submit support request at

When you export from Artisteer, make sure you have the correct Joomla version selected.

I was exporting as a zip file with ver 2.5-3.1 selected and trying to import content into Joomla 3.4. That does not work. I exported as ver 3.2-3.3 and it worked fine with 3.4.1, the latest ver now.

I export as a zip and use joomla admin to install the package.
