I do not see where to choose 1 col or 2 col on a page level using Artisteer 4. We used to be able to select the default layout or 1 column. How can 1 page be 1 column in the new 4.0 WordPress themes?

Using Artisteer 4.0 you can select number of columns for every page/post directly while adding new pages or posts.

No Garry, you can not select it individually. If I create one column for the home and into a new page, remove the column, the column is also removed from the home. This is very uncomfortable in the production of templates, it is not always a column of a page is present in another, forcing us to edit the html, which becomes quite cumbersome as there is much confusion to remove manually.

When you export a 2 column design to Wordpress, you get the option in Wordpress to specify whether the individual pages display 1 or 2 columns. Ditto if you create a 3 column design in Artisteer, you can specify 1, 2 or 3 columns per page in Wordpress.

As suggested above you need to have columns in your theme before exporting.

It doesn't seem to work for me. I created a 3 column theme but after uploading only two columns show even though in Wordpress I can select right or left column or both. What happened to the other column?

If you select a page to be a single column, does it span the entire container or just remove the sidebars?

It doesn't work as far as I am concerned. As I said above I created a 3 column design but no matter what I do the right column doesn't show up. There has to be a bug in the program.

@Jim it seems to work here? I have uploaded a bog-standard artx design file here if you want to experiment with it.

I did notice, with another project, that in WP the right column in a 3 column design was called Left Column. I think I actually switched the left column to the right when designing it, so maybe something gets confused during the design process in AS?

@Tom - when the left/right columns are hidden, the center column expands to the full width of the sheet.
