Getting Word or Excel Tables into Artisteer

When I have a table in Word and wish to get it into Artisteer I normally follow these steps:

1. Select table, then copy it to the clipboard
2. Paste into Excel, then adjust the columns till I get the spacings that I had in Word.
3. Select the cells in Excel and copy to clipboard
4. Open my webbrowser, then go to the Tableizer website
5. Paste my cells, select the font and size, then Tableize
6. Open Artisteer, open my project, then go to the page and insertion point where I want the table to go, select HTML from the menu, then paste the code from Tableizer.
7. Fix errors (that Tableizer produces), like merged cells in Excel not being merged after Tablizing, and bold headings in Excel not being bold after Tablizing

All in all, about 30 mins per table.

Of course, you cannot use the Save As in either Word or Excel and save directly as HTML as Artisteer usually rejects it as invalid code (surprise surprise), and it is so bulky as MS doesn't understand css and likes to format every element with its own style, yaaaagh!

I was wondering, as anyone come across a simpler method for getting MS tables into Artisteer, or knows of a simple, but accurate, table to html utility?

Thanks

Hello Rock.

i am sure there are lot of plugins which can help you to insert tables into wordpress post / page. you can add content there live in the post / page edit box just like you do in word or excel (okay not completly like in excel or word, but close enough).

i can see a button in wordpress editor which shows Microsoft word icon, and says past from word, ohmm looks cool..?

okay read some info here...

and give it a try and let us know if you get something cool .... O:)
