With all the HTML5 features that do not work right in older browsers i do not want to design any new sites using this.
So many people are still usin golder versions of browsers that would be a mess for a business site and make use louse customers.
Can i somehow turn off all the HTML5 stuff so i do not use it making a new site in V4???

Use V3.1 so you won't "louse" anyone.

Best bet is to look at what's not supported in say IE with html5 and css3 and just don't use them. I made a handful of sites with it and all is mostly OK but I am not using most of the new features.

arrgh for gods sake please start using css3 visuals and talk to you clients about the graceful degradation in older browsers.
Only by designers embracing the visual enhancements of modern browsers can we encourage users to update their browsers.
Those that want a more beautiful web will update those that don't won't.
The web is progressing, keep up!

TRY THIS
With your theme open, click on Options > General
Under the general tab you will see "Responsive Web Design" and you may choose either Yes or No. Choose No and it will not use HTML5 responsive functions when you export your theme. TRY THIS
