Cut off width in iPhone

I have read some other posts on this, but nothing quite like my situation.

I have developed a site with a fluid width template (why was everyone screaming for this upgrade??? FW is the pits!) - www.bajookers.com - which displays perfectly on my iPhone4GS. However, the clients who own an iPhone 3 and an iPhone 4 (not sure what type) cannot view the full site, with maps being cut off. They say they cannot "squeeze" or scroll either.

If I go to http://www.testiphone.com/ the site displays like I guess they're seeing it. But the question is, how come my phone can see it all? I have tested on my wife's droid and it suffers from the same problem.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? It does seem to be related to the fluid width template.

The best answer for your problem is Artisteer 4, I guess, since the responsive design will take care of your problem.

If your web site is static html, and you got beta 2, then use it, it works perfectly.

If you use a cms, and the cms uses html templates, then use the beta 2, it works perfectly. We figured out the jquery conflicts in Quickersite, and Artisteer beta2 templates work perfectly with it. And the content editing makes the template conversion very easy. So any other cms that is not supported by Artisteer, you can very easily convert the templates to your cms without a plugin, in less than 5 minutes.

I am also a WordPress user, and beta2 introduces many problems. Beta 2 is not good enough for even testing with WP.

Joomla users have their own concerns and problems, and I'll let them chime in.

So, if your web site is html, or you use a cms that the template it uses is html, like Quickersite, go ahead and use beta2.

If you are a WordPress user, hang in there, beta 2 is "coming soon"...

Hi Nick

Thanks for the answer. I use Joomla - 1.5.26 on this particular site. I have the 1st beta, but wasn't quick enough to get the 2nd. The strange thing is my iPhone 4 displays it perfectly, but the clients' ones, and my wife's droid, doesn't. Really odd.

Hi Ian,

I am sure that when they officially release beta 2, your problems will be solved.

I could provide you the first version of beta 2, but I'm not sure:

1. Artisteer would have a problem with it (most important) - any official response to this?

2. If the original beta 2 is good enough for Joomla. Again, it was not for WordPress.

I share your sentiments regarding fluid design btw...
