According to the features, we can now have content editing even for cms (WordPress, etc...), and the most important new feature, responsive designs.
Along with the SDK plugin and tons of other new features, this is the biggest update yet.
We bitched, complained, but I have to be the first one to say, Artisteer, you are some bad mothers, you were the best in what you do, now you raised the bar by 1000%. You guys rock !!!

I agree with Nick.. Been using it 30mins.. very nice.. Good Work Artisteer. Nice Start for Beta 4.0 . Just one issue with Wordpress. I just upgraded WP to 3.4.1 before i knew the Artisteer Beta was out. I exported it to WP 3.4.1 and tried to install.. It hung my WP up.. as if it never installed.. I'm sure it just a minor problem and I'll alert Artisteer Support tomorrow.. But the beta is very nice indeed..
Any other feedback?

I hope you don't mean windows? Apple only controls about 10-15% of market share. Unless you build everything from an iMac which isn't supported yet.

I think the feature set in Artisteer 4 is absolutely amazing! Definitely deserves the version jump.

COOL.. I havent ever even wished this much.. I just renewal my subscription because of this awesomenes..
Importing content to cms is (don´t know what to say).. I really can´t wait to see results (is it valid code etc..).
It really sounds that you could make version number to Artisteer 10.0.
I didn´t renewal my subscription in half year because i thiught that this software was dieing but im clad to see i was wrong..

This is far more than what I expected from an update/upgrade. I have recently created my first two designs using Artisteer, and also integrated my own text slider, different sized header on subpages (that would be generally handy to have imo), and now I wonder, if 4.0 can coexist with 3.1, or will it replace it? We are two weeks from the launch, and there seem to be many changes in Artisteer, and I don't want to risk redoing most of my work ...

I got a similar problem as Russell when trying to install a new Artisteer 4 template on WP 3.4.1 Multi. (the latest version). It installed fine but when I tried to view it, I was given the "Cheatin' Uh?" message. This means that I either don't have permission (not the case) or there is a plugin conflict. Deactivated all plugins, so this isn't the problem.
I also installed the theme on WP 3.5 (single edition) and got the same error.
I suspect it may have something to do with roles and capabilities. I'm the super admin on these so that shouldn't be a problem.
The features of Artisteer 4 are awesome and Artisteer is now what I hoped it would become when I bought it. I always created themes by hand. Now I have a true quick prototyping tool.

I solved my problem and I can confirm that Artisteer 4 works with WordPress 3.4.1 Multi-Site and even WP 3.5 (bleeding edge).
When you export your theme from Artisteer 4, make sure you check "Zip archive" and "Include content" (if you want your content included). After you export it, go into your WordPress in Appearance-Themes and click on "Add new". Then select "upload" and browse to the directory where you saved your theme zip file. Click on the zip file and then choose "open". Your theme should install. If you get an error that your file exceeds 1500 kb, you will need to go into phpMyAdmin and select your database, (button at the top left). After you select the database click on wp_sitemeta and then select edit fileupload_maxk and modify the 1500 kb limit and press Go.
You should then be able to preview your new theme .

Is wp_sitemeta a table in a multi-site db schema? I have never seen that table in any WP db I have worked on.

You can install the beta in a different directory, just be careful when installing the beta - make sure to create a different folder for the install ...

Ron, I've just checked the WP codex and wp_sitemeta is only Multisite installs.
