Seven months and counting... Slow motion development at it's finest.

Losers deleted my previous reply but I just replied again.

I wish Artisteer would get a clue instead of deleting anything that criticizes them. Don't they don't it makes them look like fools?

I've learned if I write anything to copy and paste it to note pad no I can keep a copy for the deleted reply website.

SHeesh can't Artisteer at least work on the software instead of deleting everything in site.

If only they spent that much time on the program itself.

Come on Adobe. Create something better!!! I will pay $500 for it...

I'm disappointed.

I bought the license and said they would be entitled to free updates for 1 year, however, will soon have passed one year and no new updates. A pity, but they seem to have no respect for us, we pay for software.

Sorry by my bad English...

True max, but the cheapest Photoshop costs $699, Artisteer $49. Furthermore, you are comparing apples to oranges, one is a photo editing software, the other a template generator. Find another template generator and compare that to Artisteer to be fair.

It is what it is. The people who own Artisteer are extremely arrogant and slow, but for the genre they have the best product, at a fair price. Many businesses depend on this product.

I just hope they don't make a big mess with 4.0 the way they did initially with 3.0. And let's hope we get a beta this week.

If they worked out the bugs in the already released minor revisions, how often do you feel a major revision is due?

I would rather wait for a finished version of the next Artisteer than have them rush out a buggy version.

Artisteer is by far the best template maker for Joomla, Drupal or Wordpress out there. I thank them for the work they are doing and will happy lay down the upgrade cost each year and enjoy each update when it comes out.

Artisteer 4 is going to blow the roof of the house when it is released. But I can wait until it is finished.

Well you get your wish. Artisteer doesn't rush anything. In fact they drag their heals in slow motion...

It's been a year and no real anything. The last version release was really just bug fixes for the perfectly working version that came out a year before it....

The public anger is mounting...

Seams to me the only people complaining are the ones wanting an upgrade before their current license runs out.

Remember, you paid for the current software. IF you get a FREE upgrade it is a bonus.

Artisteer is the best software for what it does and I want them to take their time and only release the next version when it is ready. Sure, I would like it to be today, but not at the cost of quality.

And honestly, I am only writing this so that they can see that a lot of their users are happy with the product and look forward to supporting them with future purchases. Keep up the good work Artisteer!

I am not one of the complainers, but I am impatiently waiting for 4.0, and checking in every few hours.

I totally disagree with your statement

"Remember, you paid for the current software. IF you get a FREE upgrade it is a bonus. "

WRONG ! It costs me $60/year for the upgrades. Do not distort the facts, and be fair. However, they generously added 3 extra months to my subscription, so that's one of the main reasons I did not chime in so far.

As far as Artisteer being the best template generator, etc... I am with you 100%. It's a great product at a fair price. That said, the people who own it are extremely arrogant, and slow. I would be more understanding the slow part, if they would give us at least weekly updates, previews, screenshots, new additions, what they scrapped from their original plans, a roadmap, etc... But no, they are too arrogant and elitists.

I am sure they are going to delete this post now, that's why I did save it. I'll post over and over gain, until they give up! They leave the stupid spams though. Why?

Nick - Artisteer is NOT a subscription-based software product! Where on earth did you get that one from? It absolutely does NOT cost you 60 bux per year! To do what? It functions just fine, the way you (and I) bought it! :) Nobody is twisting your arm to continually upgrade.

I have been using it since DAY ONE! and in that period of time, I have gone past the time frame of being "able to upgrade" on a couple of occasions. My choice. It was also MY CHOICE to then pay full price, a whopping 130 bux, for the latest version. So what? I made that back on the very first site! :)

I am really tired of all the whiners here complaining about a piece of amazing software that costs a measly 130 bux. Honestly. You are definitely in the wrong biz if this is an issue for you. If you really don't like it, then please, head on over to W3Schools, bone up on PHP, HTML, CSS and fire up NotePad++. Fill yer boots! :)

OK, rant over :)

@2ninerniner2:

http://www.artisteer.com/?p=faq#faq10

When I first bought Artisteer, Artisteer was at 2.0. Are the templates from 2.0 fully compatible with the current versions of cms? NO. You have to upgrade. Yes, no one is forcing me to buy anything. BUT IT COSTS ME $60/year to keep current. According to their facts, they promised 2-3 updates per year. THAT'S WHAT WE ARE PAYING FOR!!! Now that I'm not getting the 2-3 times a year upgrades, do I get a refund, since I bought the upgrade on that promise up front, and they don't deliver? NO. I'm not even asking fro that.

As I posted before, I am not a complainer, but unlike you, I'm not a kiss-ass either!

Artisteer, is the best software at a very fair price. However, the last year or so, their production team is extremely slow, and they are arrogant, and dismissive of their customers. Can you argue these facts? Then let's hear them. Where are the 2-3 upgrades per year that they promised in the FAQ page?

I am not a complainer as you distorted the facts, but impatiently waiting for 4.0. Am I yelling and screaming, like some others? NO. But I am fair in my presentation of facts. Read my previous post again. As much as I hate complainers, the same type of people you talk about, I equally hate people that distort the facts, stretch things to make their false points.

So where am I wrong here? I paid up front $60 (even though nobody forced me) for this upgrade!!! Just because nobody forced me, I should not have any expectations? I should ignore their promises from their FAQ pages? It would at least be nice to get some explanations and/roadmap when they don't deliver as promised. Instead we get ignored. Things were not like this 3+ years ago.

And don't give me the "FREE UPGRADE" crap. We pay for it, although, yes nobody is forcing us.

Well... You could get 2,3 or even 10 minor upgrades every year... Maybe it is best to have a major one every several couple of months !

Talking about this, in my country "early july" means not later than today :)

Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress and Dotnetnuke are changing all the time. HTML5 implementation is rapidly evolving with each browser implementing more and more features to support something that hasn't even been officially ratified yet!

Try programming against a moving target sometimes and you'd come to appreciate the sophistication that is Artisteer (especially for the price).

I just built a site for a customer in Bellevue, WA (westcoastcustomclubs.com) with custom theme that I made with Artisteer. Without this, his site would have been a lot more expensive.

Just think about your typical customer that keeps changing his/her mind about what they want and still nag you about why there site is not done.

I like the look of this software and have tried the demo, the only thing that concerns me in the lack of news the devs have posted, you'd think they would want to keep you updated on how the new versions are progressing. I don't see much activity from them on the forums either, correct me if I'm wrong!

So not sure if to buy 3.1 or hang for a bit for version 4!
