When I create a template and install custom fonts, they do not appear on other computers when I access the site. Is Artisteer not exporting them into the template file?

All computers doesn't have all the fonts, and a computer converts a font to default if it doesn't find it installed. In your case the font you used seems not to be installed on visitor computer.

You can try using Google Fonts.

That solution is a great step, but what about those fonts that google doesn't have? Its a dilemma I'm working with now. I would ask for a Artisteer feature that implements the @font-face in the css and automatically links to and includes the font in the template package. I know licensing issues could be an issue, but you could pop up a warning of proceed at your own risk or whatever.

thanks

can you reply please?

I am looking for the same answer as Mike. I am emulating a website for a client that has been built by another designer and it uses unique fonts. I thought they held them in the css. Obviously not.
Can you enlighten us please?
Thanks
Keith

:( I have the same problem where I cannot apply a purchased copyrighted font for a client, which now the entire commission will fail potentially at the loss of hundreds of pounds if I cannot apply successfully the required Gaden sans font into their design.

To be honest I am getting sick of repeatedly paying over-priced subscriptions to a service that rolls out makeshift fixes so infrequently that one does not get issues resolve in any sensible timespan. Artisteer has had more than fair share of bugs and little has done directly by Artisteer development to correct them except issue lame workarounds for bugs that should have been addressed before rolling out major releases.

I feel that now I have again reached an expired upgrades licence, I feel I don't want to renewing my subscription. for fear of buying into another poorly coded lame duck! It makes the work of website designers look unprofessional, with even simple browser incompatibilities and security vulnerabilities which are major issues.

You have a nice product in concept, but you seriously need to address both bug fix roll-outs and more compatibility with existing fonts features and web technologies.

Hi A Ashard!

Artisteer does not support the option to upload custom fonts. If you load this font into the windows/fonts Artisteer will work with this font as with any other system font.
In fact Artisteer exports usual html and css. Nothing special. So if you have the custom font you can use @font-face in the same way as with ANY OTHER non-Artisteer template. And it works just fine.
So to use custom font you should add @font-face, correct the font-family where needed and load the font file (.ttf, etc) to the project folder.
There are lot of free generators that will convert the font files and generate ready-to-use css.

so if i add a font to windows or linux and use it in artisteer + add it with that @font-face and upload the file it should work?
because it seems only newer versions of browsers do use that item..
any tips for the older browsers?
