Module Positions Creation for Joomla Templates

I've had Artisteer for about a year now. Made a few templates. And went and looked in the Artisteer samples and downloaded a few to check out.

Upon opening them I see they're designed with a much different layout, due to the fact that they were made as HTML site in Artisteer. Where you can have a cutom layout and what not.

So, why can't we have that same feature for Joomla that 'll create module positions.

Or for that matter, that same feature would be of help to any of the other template types.

:-X

I remember working with Joomla once and needing to create a custom module position. coming from a software background with over 15 years of extensive experience. I figured "how hard can it be?" THEN I discovered just how hard it could be. What a convoluted, illogical mess. It took a full day just to find enough material that explained it well. This was several years ago - maybe it got better since then.

Needless to say, it was the LAST time I worked with Joomla. I have yet to find something that needed to be done for a site that could not be accomplished with WordPress and far easier/faster as well.

i guess what I was trying to say is that doing it is not that easy and therefor CODING it to happen "automagically' would be even harder.

Yeah, wordpress is easier. But I like me some joomla.

I had never messed with artisteer for making static html templates. And then I found out that there was a content layout feature for the static HTML templates. And thought how nice it would be to have this feature available for the CMS line.

I've had to add module positions before, not that difficult. But it would be nicer to do it visually in artisteer, as well as to be able to style it in artisteer.

Yes I agree. When I make Joomla template in Artisteer I must then customise it manualy in html editor to make new modules and so on.
I remember that many people asked (inc. me) for this possibility almost year ago (see forum threads).
