ok, nothing to do with artisteer but you guys are always so helpful!

I am after a logo creation program that enables enables me to produce more subtle results and have more control over the end result that onlines sites such as http://cooltext.com/ and http://www.flamingtext.com/. I have PSElements but takes me way too long hence need for dedicated software.

Anyone any suggestions?

You could try Logo Creator (Laughingbird Software) at http://www.thelogocreator.com/ . I had a brief dalliance with this software a few years ago, and as a dedicated package, creating a logo was quick and easy. However, I fear the subtle results which you quite rightly want will take time regardless of which software you use.

Good luck!

I agree the Logo Creator is a decent program but I found that the graphics are a bit too cartoonish for my taste. Logo Design Studio by Summitsoft is also similar with more mature looking graphics. Both programs are a little quirky though. They have trial versions as well.

thanks for the replies!

I tried AAA Logo and it was simply awful. Logo Creator looks promising but not at all certain that it can produce effects on Text in the way cooltext.com can. What I am after is a program that just gives me a little more control that cooltext does.

Will look at logo design tho.

I'm no graphic artist by any means but if you learn the basics of Adobe Illustrator you can start doing some pretty good stuff once you learn the basics. You can also use the live trace feature to pull in bitmap artwork and change it to vector for work.

hi guys,

i'm a graphic designer, part of my logo creation is client screening process. this includes asking the client with a lot of questions regarding with the end result they want (company brief usually). my next step would be to doodle on pen (or pencil) and paper ideas that the client has fed me through the questionnaire i gave. i also look to logo websites for inspiration and ideas. i try to at least do 5 design studies/proposals. that's then when i transfer it to Adobe Illustrator, either by tracing the rough sketches i made or start with a blank page and use my rough sketches as guides.
if this is a personal logo, you can do away with the client screening process. imho, rough sketches on paper is a good way to start as you have unlimited resources there

hope that makes sense and help
