Just had a response from support - they said that what I want to do is fine.
Purchase the Win license and then just transfer over to the MAC version when it's released.

I just purchased Artisteer but I downloaded the Windows version by mistake.
How do I download the MAC version?

Mac Beta version 3.0.0.39277 - I repeat BETA VERSION, as in NOT a working release. Yet I have to pay for it to remove the watermark?
You have got to be kidding me.
Next you'll be expecting people to pay in advance for updates that may or may not be released.
You can keep your buggy piece of trash.

Hi Fred
If you pay for the software you get the current version - which is 2.6 I believe.
If you need the features of v3 it's only available as a Beta at the moment, but Beta doesn't mean it's not a working version, it simply means that it's a pre-release of the final version. IT IS A WORKING VERSION
It's a tad slow, but I wouldn't describe it as buggy.
You can try the software out for free - both the current live version and the latest beta version, but if you want to then use the output from the trial version in a live website - of course you'll need to register the software to remove the watermark. That doesn't seem unreasonable to me.
Why do you expect something for nothing?
