I wamt to add a Facebook Like button to a widget in my sidebar that will allow someone to "Like" me on Facebook.
I have found plugins to add "Like" buttons to posts, but not to do this.
Anyone know how I can do this?

Copy and paste the like button code from facebook into a text widget.

I tried to get the code but got the following message: "Only verified developers can be added as listed developers of this application." So how does someone get the code for their website??

Complete the form on the link provided and you will be given the code to enter into a widget. It works; I use it often.

After a bit of hunting around I found this page which gave me simple enough info to help me figure out what I needed to do to add the Facebook Like button code into my website: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/web/
I am an absolute beginner when it comes to HTML so I didn't really know what to do with the code! I ended up copying the example code shown and placing it in a new text block using the HTML view to paste the code in. It worked, so from there I just played around with it until I got it where I wanted it.
Hopefully this will be of help to some other newbie! It would be really helpful if there were more instructions geared for beginners - most often the help given in these forums assumes a certain level of HTML and CSS knowledge that many of us simply do not have - yet.

It might work for you but as I mentioned previously, every time I complete the form on the link and hit submit, I just get a message telling me I am not a verified developer!
