When is 3.0 going to be released ? I have been playing around with the demos. 2.6 is o.k. But I want the full power of 3.0 and don't want to waste my $ on 2.6.

Solid Date ?????

As stated in the News Section....
February 28, 2011

We'd like to ask everyone to please be patient as we are still working on updating Artisteer 3.0 Beta. We are no longer implementing new features or interface changes; therefore version 3.0 will largely remain the same product you already saw.

However, after initial 3.0 Beta releases we have found that we are not fully able to analyze and understand certain crashes and issues reported by some users. Therefore, for the last couple months we have been rewriting parts of the internal code that will allow us to better analyze and support future technical issues. Unfortunately, creating complex software code often takes more time than we'd like it to, therefore we are still finalizing those changes. At this point, we are expecting a new 3.0 update for Windows "any day now" - please stay tuned. After that, we will be able to provide a better time estimate for releasing Artisteer 3.0 for the Mac.

Also, you get a year of free updates, so if you purchase now, you will in fact be able to upgrade to 3.0 at no additional charge.

...Presuming it'll be released within a year...

Really though, I'm sure it will.

Ok Thanks "Cooldotz" I will wait until the official release.

Do you have a soft target date for this 30,60,90 days ?

Quote from the last official notice from Artisteer dated Feb. 28, 2011:

Here's what Artisteer tell me - about 2 days and there'll be a realease:

Hello Mark,

Thank you for your comments, however, indeed "any day now" is absolutely the best estimate we can provide.
It generally means a day or two, but if this estimate is incorrect then there you go - it shows that our estimates don't work, which makes it impossible to post more definite dates.
And this is true with most software development, which is why many software companies say "it will be ready when will be ready".
An extreme example might be Duke Nukem Forever that was definitely coming every year, for 10 years...
But on a smaller scale unexpected delays happen every day within every software company.

And in the past we did post 3-month estimates and been absolutely wrong, we posted 1-month estimates and been absolutely wrong, we posted 2-week estimates and been absolutely wrong, and we posted 1-week estimates in the past and been absolutely wrong.
It just no longer matters how exact or definite dates we will post - we are guaranteed to be wrong and upset someone.
It actually seems better to not even mention any future product updates like Apple does until they are about ready to release it.

Currently we simply believe that we will have an update in the next 2 days.
And we strongly believed this every day for the last 2 weeks.

Sorry we cannot offer much more comfort.

Best regards,

I would rather Artisteer take their time and put a quality product out then rush to make us happy and have a boat load of problems.

I agree, I am willing to wait, after all from what I have seen this about the best program available.

A suggestion to Artisteer developers:

I may have mentioned this earlier, but the addition of a content editor has to be making your job more complex. Artisteer as a template engine is FANTASTIC. Do that and keep doing it well.

And if you want a content editor, create a separate product. I doubt if your editor will replace my regular html editor.

Just my thoughts...and great job on V3 so far.

I'm very much with Warren on this one. Content editing software is a big headache. I'm not saying you've set yourself an insurmountable task, but I agree that maybe the content editing should be a different product, or maybe spend the time working on some sort of "plugin/addon" architecture where additional modules can be added.

Stick to what you're best at, and enhance that. Imagine how amazing you could have made the template side of things in the time you've spent figuring out this content editing thing (which is a headache at the best of times).

Thank you for an amazing product in V3. I've been using it for a while now, and as long as I save often enough, even the odd crash really doesn't bug me - all software does it. Even Bentleys break down :)

Incase ya'll don't know.... this dude... Paul Hudson is famous for rhetorical responses such as this one..... he seems to always have a whole lot to say without ever actually saying anything.

I totally agree on this. Artisteer does not need a content editor in it. In fact I prefer they don't even try to include a content editor in the software.

People if you need to edit your content a very good html editor is called PSPAD...... www.pspad.com - possibly the best html editor that is FREE on the internet. I've used it for quite a few years now and it is awesome.
