Well it seems sadly that Artisteer is starting to die to lack of development and becoming over bloated.

So please if anyone knows of any quality Artisteer Alternatives please post them here.

I suspect "Artisteer is Dead" (from similar post), "Artisteer Alternatives", "960 Grid System", "Elastic", "What about" and "The Winner" are all the same troll.

It doesn't make your PayPal funtion too well thought.

Here's an example: If I click on a hat and add to cart, a new tab opens up with PayPal. If I then add another hat to the cart, that new hat is added to the new PayPal tab. The same for the next hat. Then, if I click on view cart on your site, I am brought to the PayPal tab, which has since become emptied. Ooops.

Hey David,

Actually your site is ugly. You can gayishly scream how much you love Artisteer to advertise your site, so people can buy you hats, but your site and hats are not FABULOUS!

Yes you can. Just use virtuemart with Joomla and you are good to go. There are also alternatives for Wordpress and Drupal so no problem.
Support for Prestashop would be really nice though.

Hi!

Thank you for you reply!
Did you mean I can use Virtuemart and somehow (how?) import it to Artisteer? Because that is exactly what I am looking for!

Or did you mean: (just) use Virtuemart? :-P

Just install Joomla. Then instal Virtuemart and your template. Voila.. If you don´t like Virtuemart, you can also use Redshop, hikashop, ayelshop or some other ecommerce extensions.
Store will use joomlas template (maybe you need to do few changes to stores template but those are small..

O, this is good news! That means I can use Artisteer with Virtuemart. Thank you so much, I'll give it a try.

1. install Joomla
2.instal Virtuemart
3. instal Jomla template created with Artisteer

I hope those small changes woun't be too much for me, since I'm a total beginner.

Thanks again, have a great day!

Hi, Artisteer is for building the theme - that means the "look and feel" not all of the functions. To get functions you want to add Plugins(if you are using Wordpress) or Extensions (if you are using Joomla). I'm sure Drupal and the others that you can build "themes or templates" using Artisteer for have similar tools that add functionality to your site. If you are trying to use Artisteer to create HTML sites then you are also going to need to learn how to connect your site to a database of some sort or you are going to have to use PayPal to make a (very basic) store.

This e-commerce site http://dangcoolartworks.com was built with Wordpress using Artisteer for the look and feel (theme) and adding the Tribulent Shopping cart plugin. The point is, Artisteer is mainly for DESIGN not DEVELOPMENT.

If you wish to learn more you can check out our "do it yourself" website - where we create themes with Artisteer that people can choose from to build their own websites using WordPress. If you already have a hosting account you can install your own Wordpress, install, the theme you create in Artisteer and install whatever plugins you want..

Our site for "do it yourselfers" is http://betterwebsitebuilders.com - note this is still a work in progress as our core business is developing custom websites for people and then teaching them how to manage them (like how to add products) - but we know not everyone can afford a designer so we are trying to offer alternatives. If you want more info you can learn more about us at our main website is coburnenterprises.com maybe we can help you.

You may also want to check out Weebly.com - they offer some cool tools - but you can't use Artisteer to create a custom theme for them ... but you could create site in Artisteer and use some of the CSS in a Weebly site.

The point is, there are tons of choices these days - you just need to explore the options!

Hi!

"look and feel", this is very nice explanation! Thank you! I mean, I think I finally get it:) After some research, I'll use Magento for my on line store and Artisteeer for my themes with WP and Yoomla, because I think the product is absolutely awsome!

I know there are a tons of options out there nowdays, but frankly speaking, I felt little dizzy becuase there are so much of them.

I will check out your site, appreciate your effort, best to you,

Mateja

Hey Mateja,
a shop is something completely different thing to a CMS-Theme created by Artisteer.
eg: When you use joomla for your Website, you need a shopping component too like virtuemart or joomshopping or something else.

I created 3 Onlineshops within joomla AND Artisteertemplates.

All shops look different but they comes with the design of the joomla-Artisteer generated theme!

If you have any questions about - ask ;)
