Hello, I searched the Docs and FAQ's and didn't find an answer to this, I am new to Artisteer and am wondering if there is a way to use a specific Drupal theme to start from for customizing? Thanks in advance.

This has been answered many many times in the forums. the answer is no. You can only use Artisteer to edit the .artx file. If you don't have that file you can't edit.
This is also true for any themes that you create. If you don't save your project as .artx then you won't be able to edit you theme once it is exported (unless you are willing to edit the php and css files yourself.
Artisteer should make this clear in the Docs and FAQs.
