We are hoping to have a release candidate ready by Christmas 2011. Final release about 6 months later.

Got to be kidding
one year and a half to go from the beta release to the final release
Very disapointing

Sylvain - that was someone's joke post, not an Artisteer employee.

You'll be able to upgrade to version 3.0 free of cost if you purchase 2.5 version now.
You can also install/activate 3.0 beta in parallel with 2.5 version: http://www.artisteer.com/?p=news

I think we all understand the upgrade policy.
The point is WHEN will 3.0 be available. It was supposed to be released in November of 2010. Four months ago!

True, but this is before the Artisteer team started implementing past and current feature requests, as can be seen in the sticky thread at the top of this sub-forum.
I can't say whether or not that justifies the delay, but that's the reason. Hoping for an RC any day now...

Hmm...

Beta 3 was out when I purchased 2.5. My initial year will expire before this upgrade is finalized. I will have to pay again for the upgrade. Not good.

If what you say is true, you purchased it in late October or later - that's when the first preview version of A3 came out. I'm sure Artisteer 3 will come out before October 2011.

Yes, you know the Artisteer time line, well.
I hope it will be released before I have to renew.

A new version in 2 weeks, according to the news page.

Update on Artisteer 3.0:
Although many users use Artisteer 3.0 Beta without major problems, certain issues have affected customers who use the new content editing features in Artisteer 3.0. As the product's complexity has grown we have run into difficulties in reproducing and quickly resolving issues and crashes related to content editing and synchronizing content with online websites. Therefore we have decided to rewrite the area of Artisteer 3.0 related to content editing
You can read news page for more details: http://www.artisteer.com/?p=news

It says: "a new 3.0 update within two weeks." To me that just sounds like yet another beta version.

That´s right.
But - if the new Beta works much better - it´s okay for me ;))

I currently have over $300 sunk into software that is in perpetual beta.
I am losing patience with this. I am not going to install half-baked software on my computer, much less try to use products in my business that were created with half-baked software.
People who have paid to use stable software are not the same as people who think it is interesting to test bleeding edge software.
Any sentence that includes the word "beta" is not an acceptable answer to a question about when the new version will be ready.

If you're not willing to use the beta, use the RC.
Failing that, use the stable version.
You have options - this is leaps and bounds better than the Toemon situation.

Wow, you should have done some research before "sinking" that much money into any software. Better yet you should learn to code websites for real then you wouldn't have to rely on this amazing tool to do your work for you. I have paid my money and will be paying for an update, I take it for what its worth. Artisteer is a great time saver but you shouldn't depend on it to run your half baked business
