Now that Joomla 1.6 has been officially released, is the latest general distribution of the Artisteer software package fully compliant? If not, then when will the Artisteer software be compliant with Joomla 1.6?

@ Kenneth Newman

As pointed by Mykee Artisteer 3.0 beta and 2.6 RC2 already support Joomla 1.6

I've updated to this latest version but it still doesn't work. I uploaded the template but the template doesn't show up in Joomla :-(

:*) Template created for joomla using the latest 3.0 beta does not have half of the options in the backend admin side. It works, but it is just plain soup. Almost any of community templates are better...

:-O How can they justify asking $129 for a standard version if you can't create fully compatible joomla 1.6 template?
It looks like this is the main selling point - to be able to create joomla templates.
I am waiting for a while (like most I guess) to make a purchase, but this does not look good from any perspective.
Users are not getting what they need, and Artisteer that looks like it lost it's direction and control of the project.
Not a good business approach no matter how you look at it.

So many people are not going to even go 1.6 joomla cause for one if you have a 1.5 site with legacy on, those plugins are axed unless you track down all the plugin programmers for a 1.6 update. and two there is no migration path to 1.6 that is 100 percent working yet in all situations. rule of thumb is to wait a year after the latest joomla 1.x major update then go. I am making new websites with 1.6 only if the customers needs are supported by the additional plugins if necessary. There is nothing else out there that makes joomla templates as good and easily as Artisteer. You must be new Tony! :)

I'm with you Jake, although I've got J1.6 installed but it's only as a test-bed - it'll be (as you say) at least a year before I even think about rolling out a 1.6 based site for a customer.
As my dear old mum used to say "never buy version one of anything".

:*)If you don't set a date until which you accept the features/ideas and set your level of compatibility, you'll never finish the project. Wordpress on their 3.1 just went back on some ideas, cause they think it might be too complex to get it done b4 the final release. What Artisteer is going to do now?
I am quite sure they were going that way also.
Now, don't get me wrong - I Like the software, but please look like xbmc or clearos are getting their projects done - they even announce the project level dates on their websites!
There is always something that is going to be missed and the revisions can cover it, if you dare to open the code for it. Usually revisions and sps are for newly discovered bugs.
Jake, I hope there is nothing wrong with being new - is it?, otherwise it be hard to get the "new" customers.

Artisteer 2.6 and 3.0 beta created templates are working just fine on my Joomla 1.6 installation, you should contact Artisteer support with issue details.
