I have been reading http://www.artisteer.com/?p=help_joomla and still not sure how to get the login to the extra 2 position.

It should be this way:

Go to your administration area. Go to module manager. If you are in there, go to the module you want to place in the extra 2 position.

Select instead of "left" the "Extra 2" in the drop down menu. And then save.

The module should be in the extra 2 position from now on...

Greetings.

You may need to edit template.css to position the module on the page.

You can't because its a version 3 feature.

+1
Using the latest version 3 beta, /index.php?tp=1 shows there are no "Extra 1" or "Extra 2" module positions.

What am I missing?

No. I am using 3.0.0.33215 Standard Edition.

Definitely no extra1 or extra2 module positions, which I could really use
:(

That worked. Thanks.

One criticism, the extra1 and extra2 module position appear on the horizontal position as user3, i.e. the menu strip thereby obscuring it.

Is that by design or do there need to to be other changes made to have the extra(n) modules appear in the header proper?

Cheers

@Pierre -

Howdy,

By design ...

That is where it belongs as there have been many requests for module positions in the User3 Horizontal menu position, mostly for Search and 3rd party Horizontal Login modules. If you are having issues with making it "fit", then you will have to tweak the template.css for that template :)

Cheers!

Simply open an existing template(or create a new one) in latest Artisteer version and you'll be able to see both new positions after exporting.
