The vertical menu mimics the horizontal menu when adding pages, does anyone know a way to add pages just to the vertical menu.

The Vertical menu does what it is supposed to do... which is pull the menu items available for that person's security level. Nothing more. However... on DNN skins, the vertical menu does not display the links on the Admin or Host menus like the Horiz menu does.
If you setup your skin to ONLY have a vertical menu, first create a YourNameAdmin page. Set access to Admin Only, and use the standard DNN skin on that page... so you will have access to the menu items on the Admin & host menus.
