I'm getting large spaces between text and tables or between multiple tables in Drupal pages. Is there a fix for this?

Unfortunately there aren't any in-app settings for tables other than changing the appearance of the tables, although it would make for a good request.
Try going into your style.css generated and check your wrapper and .table css styles.
