Just made a template for Drupal Version 7 http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-7.0-alpha6.tar.gz on Artisteer 2.4.0.24559. Uploaded it and when tried to change the template on Drupal, it said, this template is not compatible with Drupal 7.
Any update on this?

"Drupal 7.0 Alpha 6 released"
Not even a Beta yet so Artisteer should not be trying to tweek their program yet. Wait till it is at least in Beta and probably a final release before trusting it for a final website. Play with it on a non-production site for a while. I have two or three domain names I keep just for playing.

Drupal's theming system in D7 has changed. That is probably why.

I feel, that will require a major update in Artisteer to have its Drupal templates Drupal7 compatible

There are tons of Drupal modules that never got updated or are not even being maintained in Druapl 6, from Drupal 5. The same thing will happen when Drupal 7 comes out. You may not have important modules available for a long time after Drupal 7 comes out, regardless of all of the promises of releasing their modules on the day Drupal 7 comes out. I don't think this is a fair criticism of Artisteer at this point. I was pleased to see - relatively speaking - how quickly they came out with the Wordpress 3.0 compatibility. I think you're going to have to stick with Drupal 6 for quite some time. And my policy is, don't use a new version until at least the .1, .2, .3 start coming out. I would not use Drupal 7.0 right away. Wait for the first one or two bug / security releases. This will also give Artisteer plenty of time to get their Drupal 7 template compatibility.

I will try Drupal 7 as soon as the first beta will be released - there are a lot of improvements - and I'd apreciate if Artisteer themes will work for Drupal 7.

To be fair, if you take the level of posts in this forum as any indication of interest in the customer base, then Drupal is far below Joomla and WP, so it is no surprise if they do not jump all over D7.
I was just listening to a session from DrupalCon and a D7 code contributing member made a comment about having to redo their code twice so far to keep up with the other changes in the D& core, so it would make sense if Artisteer would wait for awhile longer until the code base gets at least to the first dot maintenance release.

Quite frankly I believe Artisteer can start work on Drupal 7 theming engine due to the CODE FREEZE as of September 15, 2009 - 13:12, posted by Drupal creator Dries. See the article http://drupal.org/node/578446

*Begin* working on does not demand *must* make available. I don't think anyone can insist on Artisteer releasing theme capability on CMS software that hasn't even reached a stable level (officially, or otherwise). There's plenty to work on with the already stable released CMS software!

Like my nifty quote style?
I'm in agreement with usajim, Drupal needs to have a stable release for 7 prior to Artisteer making a compatible version. The entire theme structure changed drastically. Drupal isn't Artisteer's project, so it's only right to wait until the Drupal project finishes tidying up their code and structure before Artisteer is confident enough to write the program to be compatible. Artisteer wouldn't want to have to rework their software because Drupal had a few hiccups.
I'm guessing another 4-6 months before Drupal 7 is at a stable release.

i won't be paying for an AiS license until it gets up to par with Drupal 7. it's pathetic that this site has just laid dormant, looking like crap this whole time.
for the developmental power artisteer offers, you would think the homepage would look like something better than what barney rubble could carve into a chunk of granite.
all of you fanboys can shove it, too. fans don't need to try to speak on artisteers behalf. i'd like the dev. team to chime in. drup. v7.8 (current,) is stable.
i highly doubt we will be seeing any further development out of the artisteer crew. i think they're done with what they started, unfortunately.

Hi everyone i just made a template with artisteer 3 but when i try to change it from the site i get this message: This version is not compatible with Drupal 7.x and should be replaced. please help me.

@Fabricio, be sure you set the Artisteer export setting to "Drupal 7." The default is 5/6, so you have to change that. Works fine for me on a few different Drupal sites, from Drupal 7 versions both before and after the date of your post.

Eadie, how do you set Artisteer to export to Drupal 7 rather than 5/6?
Thanks! :)

Hi,
You can find that option in the Export dialog. What version you are using?

Hi Hella, thanks for your help.
I use Artisteer 3.0 and here you can see what happens when I click the Options button on the Drupal Export screen: http://tinypic.com/r/25oz2vb/7
Am I looking in the wrong place to export to Drupal 7?
Thanks!

In case this hasn't been fully covered, since it's being asked... thought I'd mention this.. (just browsed by the forum again)..
To change the Export options to use Drupal 7 instead of 5/6, easiest way to find those options is:
1. Go to the "main" tab of the Ribbon interface... it's the "suggest" tab, I guess.. I forget what the actual name is.
2. There around the middle/right, you'll see the Options button - rather large button. And the options are directly in that window that pops up... I think you see them right away.. if not, try clicking a couple other options within the window... I'm at work, and don't have it at work, so I can't remember for 100% certain.. but that's basically how you can get to it.

Home now. I just looked, and it's not the Options button, but the big Drupal button - kinda hard to miss. It's on the Ideas tab.
