Can we replace Title & Slogan with a Logo Graphic?

I'm almost ready to go live with a new website for my business using Artisteer & DotNetNuke, and until now I've been happy with the textual Title & Slogan. But now I've designed a graphic logo, & would like this to replace the textual Title & Slogan. Is that possible within Artisteer, or does it require some 'hacking'?

Absolutely possible! No hacking required at all!
select the option "Insert Picture from File" within the header tab of Artisteer. You can insert a background or foreground image. If you wanted to use an artisteer background image or effect and want to lay your own logo graphic in the foreground you can do that as well. PNG files work well in this instance.

Good Luck! :-)

Excellent, thanks for the tip. I already have a foreground photo and a background, & s subtle Flash effect. So I'd like to add my logo to either the foreground image with its transparent background, or the background image. Trouble is, I can't find them anywhere!

export the theme. Open your "images" folder in the theme folder. Choose Header.jpg and use GIMP or Photoshop or whatever to add your logo to the file, save the file, and then you have a logo instead.

Make sure to switch off slogan/site name on your site when uploaded.

Thanks - I can see what you mean, although this will only allow me to add the logo 'post-Artisteer', but I'd really like to add it within Artisteer, so I don't have to re-do this every time I update the Skin in Artisteer. If I could find the images that Artisteer provides, then I could simply add my logo to the foreground image & use the 'From File...' option. Any idea where those files are stored? I've looked in all the obvious places like Program Files\Artisteer & Users\??\AppData etc, but to no avail.

Someone asked a similar question recently about adding custom images to the artisteer images folder and apparently artisteeer wouldn't be able to read them anyway - something about how the programme is configured.

What you could do is name your new header header-mine.jpg (or something) and then each time you export your theme you just need to change where it says header.jpg to header-mine.jpg using a search and replace.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for your help, Mark C. What a shame that Artisteer doesn't either (i) allow you to add your own custom logo in addition to using the built-in images, or (ii) allow you to edit the built-in images so you can add your own logo. Of course, if it did the former, there'd be no need for it to do the latter!

Anyone from Artisteer reading this? Could you please add this functionality? The custom logo could simply replace the Title & Caption, as I can't see many people wanting both.

Anyway, this time around I've found an alternative image (though I have to say it's not as good as the built-in one I had chosen!), added my own logo, & used that as the foreground image instead.

Apparently there used to be logo support, but it was removed as it conflicted with other things. They really ought to try to add it back in and make it clickable to the homepage.

I do put graphic logos/slogans in my headers, however I would like to have an "alternate text" connected to it so the business name & slogan gets picked up by the search engines. I have some knowledge of html & css, just enough to be dangerous but I've been googling and it appears that because the header image is a background image
background-image: url('../images/header.jpg');
that this is not possible? So far, the only advice I've seen is to make it a "proper" image with
<img src="/images/header.jpg" alt="my logo and slogan"/>
Will I break something if I re-classify the header as a regular image?

Very fugly. However it's clearly affiiated to GoDaddy - same styling, same fonts, and both sites undergoing the same scheduled maintenance tonight :-)

i am wondering if you can add images to the foreground images, like an artisteer update or something. i am busy with an aviation website, and when you use a normal image it adds a white block to the image, which i do not want

This may be old news but make a transparent png the width 1920 by the height of your header with your logo in it and insert it as a glare into your header. Then you can still have a background and foreground image.

Looks like this happens in ie9 and ie7. ie8 looks pretty good. Other browsers look okay also.

If I had to guess, it's something to do with all those jscript files. Turn them off and see if it still persist.
