Good afternoon,

After I upgraded from V2.3 to V2.4(Newest Release version, not beta..) All of the Photo objects thumbnails (Background, Glare, texture, foreground photos, etc) are Missing from the ribbon menu.

My notebook spec's are below:

Asus EEE PC 1000H
Windows 7 (Fresh Install)
2GB RAM
Mobile Intel 945 Video (Driver is updated)
All other Drivers are up to date.

The files themselves appear to be there under the Library folders)

I've Done Numerous re-installs without success. version 2.3 worked fine. I'm totally frustrated :-).

Also, I tried to open a support ticket but after typing my problem. I hit the submit button and was redirected to :

http://www.dokimos.org/ajff/

My ticket was not entered into the system. I tried this on multiple pcs in two different locations.

Help

Hi Russell,

Sorry you are having this problem. Despite this sub-forum being called 'Product Support', Artisteer generally do not visit here as you are supposed to enter a new Case via the support link.

Your mention of being directed to that dokimos site is very strange. I have entered Case's a few times and never had a problem.

Can I suggest you try again. And if being redirected to this site is reproducible - let me know and I'll try! You might also try using a different browser - what are you using BTW?
cheers Dave

Dave,

Thank you for responding. I only used the Product Support Forum because of the strange redirection issue. I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 for the most part. I've tried it on three PCs now in two geographically location using Firefox and IE 8.0(Vista SP2/Windows 7) all resulting in the same redirection to the same website. I'm a IT Specialist by trade and I checked all of my systems and I have found No Malware. Very Strange indeed.

Do you have a Support Email I'd could use(or another Email address?) If you'd rather not give out over the Forum. I'm following the @ArtisteerTeam on Twitter, so you could DM @russelllechard with it if you like.

My Artisteer bug is also very strange indeed too. On my notebook, Artisteer 2.4's Photo Objects thumbnails appear to be Missing from ribbon menu(Just blank space/Item options,if any are visible). I've resinstalled it numerous times now with the same result. BTW, Artisteer 2.3 ran fine with now issues prior to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Russell

Hi Russell,

I just create a new Case using my login - I explained to Artisteer what you are experiencing.... & pasted your initial request!

The support case went through fine, with no redirection to the dokimos site.

I'll let you know when Artisteer respond..

cheers Dave

Russel,

Looks like your EEE PC has a very small screen (10") and some options don't fit on the menu, although should be expandable. What is your screen resolution?

As for the support issue, we are researching it as it may be related to our anti-spam system, although you can try submitting a new brief support ticket referring to this forum post and attaching a screenshot showing what you see on the screen.

Paul,

It now worked... Thank you. I was bringing to doubt my knowledge of how I thought the Submit process work or I had some disturbing malware following me around form place to place. LOL Thanks for the assistance. I have now placed a trouble ticket into the system

Any solution to the actual problem of blank thumbnails yet?
I am experiencing the exact same problem after upgrading.

It works fine selecint the empty thumbnails, but none of the dropdowns contain any data.

System specs:
2.8GHz quad, 8GB RAM
ATI HD5700 and Nvidia 9600GSO gfx card witah 4 screens, all around 1920x1200 resolution... 900 cores total.
Windows 7 Premium 64-bit
IE8, Visual Studio 2008+2010, Office 2010, probably a few SDK's..
anything else that could affect the app?

Found it!

The fact that you had an Eee PC gave me a clue. I recently optimized my PC for use over RDP, and hence turned off a few visual features... This included not displaying thumbnails in Windows Explorer.

Solution:
1. Stop Artisteer
2. Start Windows Explorer
3. Press ALT button to bring down menu
4. Select Tools and then Folder Options
5. Select View tab
6. Uncheck checbox on top named "Always show icons, never thumbnails"
7. Press OK
8. Start Artisteer and icons should display

:)

Tedd,

Although Artisteer Support did verify that I did have an issue. It was my Screen Resolution 1024x600 (my EEE PC Intel Mobile GM945 doesn't not support anything other than 600, that I can see atleast). They were very nice and helpful in which i'd like to say thanks to them. However they could not provide me a solution at this time.

But I'll definitely try your fix. If it works, You'll be my hero.. I'll let you know in a few days.
Thanks for working on the issue.

Hi Tedd,

Just wanted to update you on my situation. I tried your fix, but there is no joy in mudville. It had no affect either way. I followed your instructions to the letter. Anything I missed? Either way, Thank you for trying to help.

I had the same issue with this screen size and was able to get mine to work by not maximizing Artisteer. So basically I had to manually resize Artisteer to fit my screen without using the maximize button. But, anytime I maximize Artisteer the thumbnails disappear. Hopefully this makes sense for someone. :-)

These type of issues occur with odd screen resolutions.
