Definitive answer on flash effects in headers

There's something I'm curious about, especially because it appears to have been answered two different ways on this forum. It may arise from a lack of clarity whether we're talking about flash effects (the new addition to Artisteer 2.4) or flash files.

Even though you can't import your own flash effects into the Artisteer 2.4 internal library itself, I still don't know if you can create your own collection independently and use Artisteer to apply one of them to your existing static header. It would make sense, because otherwise the only actual flash effects you can select are in the limited collection that Artisteer provides, which begs the question why produce an almost really cool but terribly limited capability?

The two conflicting answers I've heard so are as follows.

1. Yes, you can create and insert your own flash effects to an already existing static header. (If so, are there any examples for us to learn from?)

2. No, if you want a header with a flash effect but do not want to be constrained to the Artisteer library, then you must entirely replace your static header image with a .swf file.

Does anyone know the definitive answer? Thanks!

The correct answer here is yes, you can create and insert your own flash effects to an already existing static header. I don't have a specific example for the time being, but I know the answer to this from what I observed 2 days ago. I started with a static image. Then I decided to create a flash banner. I forgot to remove the static photo from the banner. After the template installation, as I fired up the template for the first time, ans as the flash was loading up, the static picture showed up for a 1-2 seconds, then was covered by the flash banner. If my flash was semi-transparent, or was only some effects, like the ones built in Artisteer, I would have seen both at the same time.

Here is a link to an example with flash embedded in the header. Nothing fancy, just an image fading slideshow of softball players.
