How a skin with 3 content panes (left right center...) and have the middle pane to extend if the sides are empty?

For example I have the Login in a left pane... and I want to use or not the right pane depending on the page...

So for example the home page would look a lot better if this the middle pane extended to the right :)

I guess I'll have to change it on CSS... but where?

Hello Miguel,
This functionality is already out off the box. If you add a Module to the Content Pane and left empty the sidebar1 and sidebar2 panes you´ll see it.

Thanks so it seems is just a preview thing... I couldn't be sure because in the preview if I keep the login and search blocks to the left the content stays in the middle without extending...

Anyway thanks :)

Miguel, I had the same issue. There are multiple version of Artisteer 2.3 this problem is fixed reliably only in the latest version - 2.3.0.23326. Once I used this version of 2.3 the problem went away.

I have version 2.3.0.23326 and my panes are definitely not expanding to full width when they are supposed to. Here is a page I'm working on that shows a bit of what I'm talking about:

http://www.collincountyaggies.com.previewdns.com/amc/Home.aspx

No matter which panes I use either there is a big gap on the left or right or in between modules and the text/html box never expands to fill it like it should.

Also, I tried putting a banner above the text/html box to make the pane expand as well as putting in a clear 600x1 line and all it did was have that image extend beyond the edge of the content pane out into the background while the container and text never moved...

Hi Jerome,

Thanks, that does work if I have a Left + Content Pane... (the content expandes to the Right)

But when I have ONLY the content pane it stays at the left side and with a fixed with...

I eventually change it to TOP or Bottom, when its totally alone.

Btw what should I change to have a fixed min-height...

When a page is empty It will show the footer just bellow the menu, and also.

I know I can do it in CSS, but I don't know what part of it to change... sorry for the off-topic!

My skins are 2 columns Content and Sidebar across and multiple vertical panes. I have not found vertical collapse to be an issue. So, no minimal height issues. Of course, if I have pages with no content I just make them invisible.

Here is another matter that caused problems. Make sure that once you've made a change clear the cache in your browser so that the new stylesheet will download. Otherwise, the browser won't show any changes.

Finally, I have used the and Bottom panes quite often for full width. Artisteer seem to only collapse SIDEBARs 1 and 2; other panes don't collapse.

Travis, if I recalled correctly, the VB code in the skin only collapses SideBars 1& 2 . Panes other than these hold their form. I use the top and bottom panes for full width and the contentpane & sidebar for two columns, Top 1,2,3 & Bottom 1,2,3 for three column layouts. However, when I have nothing in the side bar the content pane expands full width since 2.3.0.23326.

Suggestions (hopefully not stupid): 1) Clear the browser cache
2) Check the properties for your article container (padding/margins),
3) make sure you are using the "page" skin and not the "page-admin" skin for the public facing skin. Its easy to have a problem with each of these at somepoint - ben there, done that a few times:-)
