Same experience as Paul, clicked on the application, bounced for a second in the dock but won't load.

The problem seems to be in the activation. Deleting the activation files from the system (I'm on a different CPU right now so I can't give the actual path) allowed the application to run, although it still cannot be activated.

Same here... Annoying. I have sent a bug report to support.
Using iMac 24, 2.8ghz C2D, 4GB, Snow Leopard 10.6.2. Artisteer just starts up by bouncing the dock icon, then shuts down again.. bugger!!

Could you elaborate a bit more in detail on where and how to do that? The "system" is a big thing

Exactly the same for me. How can this possibly be a release candidate when it wont event load properly!

Works fine on my Core Duo 2.0 Macbook w/ 1 GB of ram and my MacPro Quad 3.0 w/ 8 GB of ram...
The only problem I have is, inside the program, opening files are grayed out. However if I double click on them in the folder they'll load in Artisteer just fine...

Just tried it and I'm sorry to say but 2.3 RC2 fails to launch on my iMac C2D 2.0 GHz w/ 10.6.

I have it on two Mac's (MacPro and MacMini) and am both under OS 10.6...works for me. Have you maybe tried to repair your disc permissions, I wonder if that might fix the problem... Its worth a shot.

I have over 80 apps on my Mac and don't have issues with any of them.

still not working for me, Im afraid... on my MacBook Pro with Snow leopard...
... Alex in support is on the case and we're bouncing back and forth with tests.... hopefully a solution pops up soon.
At least its working on my workstation at work.... but thats running, leopard.
Another interesting thing I found was that even though Artisteer was 'force quitted'.... if you went into Terminal and used 'Top' you'd find there were still tools from Artisteer using up processor power power...and you couldn't 'Kill' them.... Only a restart would pull them down.

I think, you may try to write to product support.

I've been back and forth with support -- no solution yet,
But interestingly, they told me to try opening it using Terminal, and that worked. Don't know why, but you might want to try it.

file attx. crashes when opening.
Software opens very slowly, especially with my background!!
Backgound loading is a drag, sometimes "option-field" works, mostly it doesn't. Working with new MacBook Pro, just uploaded software....

No one is supporting PPC anymore; its not a good business model to continuously support outdated technology. MacPro was the first to go Intel in August of 2006. This summer that will be four years ago...its time to upgrade.

iMac 24 Leopard 10.5.8
Just installed the latest RC3 and not at all happy.
Extremely slow to load and unuseable.
Had to reactivate but maged that ok but once up and running (walking!) totally unuseable.
Reloaded previous RC and ok again.

I am using snow leopard - and the install worked and i was able to load immediately. Using a mac book pro. Fairly responsive. So far so good.

Actually, you're right. It's painfully slow and virtually unuseable.
My piece of junk Celeron 430 1.73GHz notebook with 2GB of ram (WinXP) vastly outperforms my C2D 2GHz iMac with 4GB of RAM (10.6.2).
I'm hoping they'll do some optimization for the final release. Until then, there's always Boot Camp, Fusion, Parallels, or VirtualBox.

Latest Mac Version runs well for me! I have Macbook Pro Intel and it works fine! I believe that most of you are not being patient. The first time you load this it takes up to 2 minutes for the dialog box to pop up and then you can choose which you want to open. Try it again and wait a few minutes.

I'm stlll having the same problems as detailed above. One thing I will say is that the Artisteer people have been very responsive to my support requests and they are working hard to get the bugs out. We all need to be patient. I do believe when they get it figured out we'll have a very fine piece of software.
