Hi,

I've created a couple of joomla templates with Artisteer and only just noticed that although I'm creating the template with the RSS logo, when I install the template the RSS logo does not appear.

I've read through the joomla instructions and couldn't find anything about it.

Is there something else I need to do to get the RSS logo to appear in the footer?

I'm using 2.3.0.21098 Standard Edition.

Thanks,
Karen

Have you created the syndicate module and assigned it to the syndicate user position? It's won't just show up... you need to add a module and assign it for it to be displayed.
Hope that helps.

I have the same problem. With Artisteer I add the RSS symbol in the footer, but it does not appear on my homepage. Joomla 1.5.15 has no mod_syndicate (it is included but not shown in the modul overview). But I can enable the RSS-Feed in the menus. But still there is no RSS-symbol...??

How did you configure your footer? Did you use the "Customizing Your Footer" in the Artisteer ReadMe file? If so, this procedure does not include the code necessary for the RSS icon on the main page. Joomla does include a Syndication module (It is usually on the second page of the Module Manager tab). If you don't see it it can be added using add New Module and selecting Syndication from the second column of available modules. For the Artisteer generated footer code to work make sure that this module is set to the syndicate position. To change the date or add your site name to the copyright line you will need to edit the index.php file. Look for these lines:

<p>Copyright &copy; 2009 --.<br />
All Rights Reserved.</p>

Just change the text between the <p> and </p> the <br /> is a line return.

Also, don't forget to unenable or change position of anything other than "Footer" set to the footer position.

thanks, dsm, that was the trick:

"If you don't see it it can be added using add New Module and selecting Syndication from the second column of available modules."

I always installed modules, but never recognize the button "new" to add a module. now it works! thanks!

DSM - I've setup the RSS exactly as you stated and it's still not showing up in the syndicate pos. I modified the copyright text via the index.php file but still no luck on showing the RSS icon.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Roberta
