Is it possible to create a theme with more than one right sidebar for use in WP? I want to add sponsor logos, but it appears that the default widgets in WP is 6. How can you get more?

are you sure you're using the most recent version of artisteer? I created a WP theme just a couple weeks ago with two right sidebars. Under Layout/Columns should be one, two and three column layouts.

Artisteer just creates the template.
You can insert a text widget to put ads in. Or you can always code in banners and ad links to the sidebar.php file.
You can create a second page template along with a renamed duplicate sidebar1.php file and have a different side bar for different pages.

Go to layout->columns in Artsiteer and you'll see an option having two right sidebars and you can choose it for your design.
I think there are 12 widgets available in wordpress to choose from, there is a drop down above widgets which can be set to: show all, show used or show unused widgets
