Drop-down menu is not working

Hello everyone,

I am new to Joomla! and am developing a new site using Artister 2. In Artisteer the drop-down menu is working properly, but when I upload the template to Joomla! 1.5, the sub-items do not show. Instead, I see the categories' and articles' titles that are supposed to show as subitems in the menu, show in the main bloc as a list or blog (depending on the type I assign to it).

I have assigned "user3" to the top-menu which I am using as the main menu.

Also, I would like to know how to create a fly-out menu.

I have found a drop-down menu extension but when I try using it, it messes up the top menu completely - it shows a vertical list instead of the horizontal drop-down menu.

Thank you very much,
Irina

Did you enabled sub menu items in Artsiteer while designing your template, You should also confirm it in your joomla admin whether you enabled sub menu items

Hey Malcolm,

You probably resolved the issue one way or another since it was more that a year ago you posted this.

Anyways, I had a similar problem whith an ajax component that was supposed to open a popup over the main page in joomla.

I resolved it using the z-index function in the CSS-file.

You can read more on how it works here: http://www.w3schools.com/css/pr_pos_z-index.asp

Cheers

Malcom, to display menus over flash you need to use this parameter.

Object tag
<param name="wmode" value="opaque" />

Embed tag
wmode="opaque"

:-( :-( :-( Spent 1.5 days up-down Artisteer/Joomla forums and no workable answer....my topmenu drop-downs still don't work.

Parameters:
Top Menu : user3
Menu Style : List
Start Level : 0
End Level : 3 (Tried numbers 0-10)
Show Sub-menu : YES

Advanced Parameters
Is there supposed to be something different here???
Menu Class Suffix : -nav (also tried art-menu)
Module Class Suffix:

I already of have multiple categories and articles with content under these sections.

In Artisteer, I did have Sub-menus selected for the Top Menu. This is evident in the CSS code for my template:

@ Ryan,

Are the sub menu items appearing in on other themes, if no, make sure you have submenu items.
