Can anyone tell me how to make the content block area magazine style? I have seen this done on some artisteer themes. If you have the code can I please have it? or just tell me how to do it.

This tutorial from the Artisteer Help Forums might be helpful:

Aristeer support suggested future versions might have magazine style presentation options. Of course they need to sort our their messed-up and embarrassing categories limitations in the menu bar (they must be red-faced over that, I'd reckon).
For now now, you can use notebook to create a page called home.php and it will become your homepage as soon as you upload it. Format it any way you desire. If you just had one word in home.php and no code, your home page would show up as that one word. Usually, people just copy the contents in index.php, paste it into home.php then change it. How to change it? That's a little more involved. Google it to find tutorials. I did it with www.Bird-Center.net which needs work, so probably isn't the effect you'd want (sort of imitated the Arthemia theme).

Here's a theme created with Artisteer and using "page templates" along with setting up WP to use a static page as the home page, the theme is "magazine" style. You can download it and look at the different page templates to get the idea. As with most magazine styled themes you have to make some edits to the php files to make it display what you want but nothing that difficult and the edits are marked out.

You do not have to do this type of file formatting with WordPress since about version 2.6, definitely not for 2.7 or 2.8. Simply create a page and designate it as your home page in the wp-admin configuartion area, you can separately select a different page to be your 'blog' page.

True, and it is the easier option. But there is more control in adding magazine-style presentations the way I described.

Hey, Adam, you are talking about Google notebook, correct? What would you recommend be used instead since Google is no longer supporting that product? I'm curious because I want a magazine style layout for my theme too.

I have a couple more layout styles I'm playing with, so check back.

Hi, Deborah, I wasn't referring any any particular notebook application per se. I'm sure there is a notebook program on your computer. Start>All Programs>Accessories>Notebook
That all said, maybe it would be wise for someone to try the much simpler approach Brett Bumeter described before trying it the way I described.
I know I'm not being too articulate. What effect would you like on your main page? For example, would you like two columns at top with thumnails, and one wide one below or what? Knowing that, it would be easier to suggest ways to do it.
